General 5:2 and Fasting Chat

Having only done two fasts I can't be classed as an expert at all but have found that on non-fast days I don't want to eat as much as I would have before as I am not 'scared' of feeling hungry. If I don't have breakfast and don't eat until lunch or later it doesn't bother me, whereas before I was always 'starving' first thing.
OMG - i get this too, in fact i am sitting here looking at the bowl of porridge i have been dreaming about all night and am thinking how i wish i'd waited before making it!! :?

It's probably being over hungry - you know when you go past the hunger stage? Who knows!

I am also surprised at the snacks i go for on feast days. I crave healthier food rather than really naughty foods - not always but it's becoming more and more frequent!

Is this because my body is craving more nutrients with fast days now in place, is it because i don't want my fast/very hungry days to be a waste of time, or is it just simply the new reprogrammed me??? :?:

Who knows, but i like it!! :D
I am just leaving the breakfast table at Premier Inn-- marvelous quality stuff. I have certainly had my fill of decent food, but I've left the indulgent things I would have otherwise chosen. Just because they are there for the taking, I have generally had the crumpets and the muffin, but not now. In fact, my fast day is tomorrow, and it will kick in this evening with a light, healthy tea. The 5:2 has changed the way I look at food, and it has immediatly changed my weakness towards stuff I always knew was not right for healthy living. SO, the point I am making is---- at home I have managed to avoid rubbish because it is not there any more, but I am chuffed to pieces that, faced with the frredom to indulge in temptations, I find it so easy just to ignore them. This is a way of life for me now. Thanks to all those people out there promoting this concept, and giving us the science to back it up. I like to understand things before I take them on board, and this is very convincing. Jennifer.
Yes I am also finding myself hesitating before eating my breakfast the day after fasting. I think that the shake-up the fasts have been for my body have led to me becoming a far more sensible eater in general. Before starting this system/diet I found myself eating more or less what I liked and when I liked. Now I'm more aware of the nutritional value of the food that I eat. I think that the discipline I need to fast has spread over to the feast days...I hope so; it's very very early days for me. Is that happening to anyone else, in addition to the initial morning after feed reluctance?
