It seems that I put on weight 1kg per month for 6 months last year. I wonder if it's linked to the contraceptive implant (I think it's Nexplanon) or due to the "back to normal" after the Dukan diet I've been on. I was watching what I was eating too so it wasn't that normal (I was on Weight watchers after Dukan). I was wondering if someone experienced weight gain using contraception.

As a bloke I haven't had to face this either way but anecdotally from several women I know well they all have experienced weight gain with contraceptive pills but the two or three who have implants haven't noticed any gain. Too small a sample I know and I presume the actual contraceptive used is different but hopefully others will chip in with their experiences.

Any hormonal contraception can cause weight gain, which can vary by individuals. You can google the exact implant you have, and check the literature - but I'm pretty sure it's going to say it's a potential side effect.
I gained weight with the pill as well as with the mirena IUD.

Apparently the pill and other contraception doesn't actually cause weight gain in itself.... but it can increase your appetite and also cause bloatedness so weight gain can be a side effect of those.
