Has anyone used one of those weighing machines which also measure your body fat percentage? I have been using one in a well known high street chemist and the figures are truly frightening! My initial body fat measurement at the start of this diet was over 50% of my body weight! It is now going down but still ridiculously high. What are other people's experiences of these machines (eg are they accurate?) At the start of this diet, I was bordering on being 'obese' but I am shocked at these measurements.

my own scales give a readout - 27.5% currently. Last year I did do a BodPod test and they were pretty close to what it said.

If you were a "healthy" BMI woman at say 20% body fat and 20 BMI then going up to 30 BMI would take you to about 45% fat.

Thanks for that PhilT. I'll just have to carry on regardless then. Just shows how the weight and fat can creep up on you if you're not careful!
