I want to get back into donating, I've had a post op break of 6 weeks and got the go ahead from specialist to donate again.

So where does one fit a plasma or blood donation in relation to Mon/ thurs cal restriction. Maybe plasma might not leave me as drained of energy as full blood. I never thought about this till I got the go ahead to donate again.
I don't donate plasma, so can't comment on that, I have donated blood but not on a fast day, I think the last time was the day after a fast with no ill effects.
I donated blood the day before I began this WOE. I was fine. I'm only allowed to donate every 6 months, so hopefully by the next donation I'll be on maintenance and it'll fit in easily. My veins are too dodgy for plasma, so can't help there. I wouldn't even consider donating on a fast day; reckon I'd do it on the 3rd feed day.
This is a good question for the professionals on site.
I fast Monday and Thursday. My doning appointment was for Thursday so I moved the fast to Friday. Didn't want to risk fainting. It also gave me the option to skip a fast if necessary as I prioritised the blood doning over fasting.
I regularly donate blood and it's always a Tuesday evening session that I attend. Last time I donated I had fasted from 7pm Sunday to 7pm Monday, eaten normally on the Tuesday including eating a meal before donating, had my biscuit after the donation and I was absolutely fine

I would never donate on the day of a fast nor on the morning after - better to switch your days around or even miss one that week than risk feeling rubbish. Donating blood or plasma is more important than missing a single fast in my opinion. I know someone posted on here a while ago saying they had donated on a fast day and regretted it.
