Pamelasockgirl, yes that does happen. Especially to 'serial' dieters who have been so restrictive for so long that they they tend to go a bit loopy the first few weeks. Once their unconscious mind realises that food is now available, not restricted on a month to month basis it settles down.

I always found when I set up a date to start a diet I would spend two days stuffing my face with everything I knew I would be denied 'forever', usually putting at least another 4lb on for that week. Its the same when you start this diet, but now you are 'allowed' to eat it. The novelty of actually being able to eat what you want soon wears off, because you can eat what you want (though you shouldn't eat as 'much' as you can.
