Second day hunger
19 Jul 2013, 15:48
So yesterday was my first fast day and it went surprisingly well - I stuck to 500 cals, no hunger, no headaches. I was surprised that although I wanted to eat, I realised I didn't NEED to.

Today is a normal day, and I want to eat my arm! What's that about? I've had breakfast, mid morning snack, lunch, mid afternoon snack (all healthy stuff) and I'm still ravenous!

I'm guessing maybe I wasn't hungry yesterday as I had stuffed myself the day before - last supper and all that lol! I'm not worried, I'm sure I'll adjust but did anyone else have this?

Oh yeah... A lot of posts have been on here about that very thing. Try to eat sensibly (as you have done). The fast is a shock to your system and it takes a while for some bodies to adjust. It should pass, but may take a few weeks.

As Debbie says, it is pretty normal! Don't worry, it does get easier, the first few fasts are a period of re-adjustment, and not always plain sailing. lots of info on here, just type the subject matter for the issue you're having and you will be able to read previous posts. The search box is top left "Search.." :clover: Welcome to the forum btw!

I usually feel pretty hungry the day after a fast, especially in the morning. So I tend to make sure I have fruit and healthy things to snack on at work if I need, drink plenty, and after lunch it usually sorts itself out. Its quite funny really because the day after a fast I actually feel excited about eating!
