Yikes, but I put myself in a bad pot. It's fasting day, which we decided on rather late last night. So I'm hungry, I have to cook a dinner of about 250 calories for me and hubby, plus a healthy non-diet meal for our skinny, picky 12 year old.

But reading through recipes while fasting is a bit like torture, isn't it? LOL

I suppose the upside of going to the store (if I must) is that I'll be able to pick up two cartons of raspberries for a lovely dessert.
Hope you manage to sort something out for all of you!
Pizza for your child and maybe some steamed veg & chicken with gravy for you two? Brown gravy that is. I think over in the US you think of gravy as some lumpy white stuff, no idea what it is. I had a friend come to stay from the US last year and think he was a bit surprised by the gravy we have, lol.
Oh now I'm intrigued. Gravy here is thickened with flour, and is probably the consistency of heavy cream. We make a roux with flour and meat drippings, then add broth until it's a sauce. Some southern gravies add milk, which I think is a little gross.

I think I may roast a head of cauliflower in a tiny amount of oil and serve that with some sort of grilled chicken and a salad. I can get the offspring to eat the chicken if I put it in a sandwich or drench it with barbeque sauce.
Go to my blog and look at yesterday's menu, your child should eat it just bulk it up with fries or a baked potato.
Gravy is any juice that comes from roasting meat and thickened with corn starch. Anything else is not gravy. (But the thought or roux has me drooling all over the place!)

Anyway, back to your topic, since I live alone I take the easy way and either steam a 450 calories bag of veggies or eat porridge.

If I was cooking for a child (I confess that I wouldn't bother for my man, I'd just sent him to eat out) I would probably choose to cook the same thing for all the family and just add some rice or tatties for the little one.
