Shocked.
11 Feb 2013, 17:53
Hi! Well it's almost 6pm and I have had a 94 cal soup and lots of water so far and I am amazed that I haven't had one bad hunger pang! I can't quite believe it, considering I normally eat as soon as I get up. I am feeling absolutely fine. I told my mother what I was doing and waited for the 'Oh that can't be a good idea' but instead she's decided to do this too. She even bought us both a copy of the 5:2 diet book. :) I don't expect every fast day to be this easy but it's definitely inspiring to see it can be done without feeling horrific. Yay!

Thanks to anyone who has offered advice/encouragement. Much appreciated. :)

I think it is amazing seriously how little calories we can take in at times and still feel ok. I know you wouldn't do it every day but its interesting to see really isn't it :)

Agreed. I had built myself up for feeling really lousy today. I just expected to because I always eat three meals and have snacks so I thought this would make me miserable put I\d try pull through it. Instead I kept thinking 'Why am I not ravenously hungry yet?'. I am wondering if that will happen on Wednesday but feeling a bit more confident after today. :)

Oh I agree so much! It's really quite shocking how easy this can be!

I have to admit being rather nervous about starting fasting, and my first day was very daunting. Now I don't even really notice the fast days. I just plan a nice dinner with the best use of 500 calories possible and go on my way.

And now I have day two over and done with and it really wasn't so hard. I think it's the fact I just wake up knowing there won't be food so there's no point in dwelling on food. If I start to think about it I just down some water and think 'I can have that tomorrow' and just get on with it. :-)

Exactly! And isn't it nice getting a little lie-in to make up for the time you'd usually spend making / eating breakfast and preparing lunch!

I agree with you all. Fast days are great as I get up and grab a 2 litre bottle of water and that's 'lunch' sorted.

All my fast day dinners are in the freezer so I get home, decide on what I would like, defrost in the microwave and Bob's ya Uncle... No faffing and no fuss!!!
