A new chapter
13 May 2014, 05:52
They say life is what happens when you are making other plans.

Well I was offered a job in Oxford and have accepted, I start there on 1 August.

Lots to do and arrange including a trip in the first week of June to find a house and a school, I may have to post the odd question here for advice from my new found fasting friends.

I have been watching loads of Eastender episodes and all the come dine with me reruns so I reckon I've got a handle on the culture and cuisine already. Just kidding.

Quite excited really, luckily we spent 3 years between 2005 and 2008 living in Munich so the new country thing is not completely daunting.

How exciting. I am from cambridge, which is very similar in appearance and culture. You may experience some great sights and certainly get used to the bikes!!!
Have fun and yes keep us up to date.

It's a great area to relocate to, very beautiful and so central for lots of lovely little village and towns and of course London. Your OH may be interested to google 'Bicester Village' ;)

Congratulations and good luck!

Oh you lucky thing @brian1. I absolutely LOVE Oxford. I did once go for an interview at the John Radcliffe hospital, but didn't get it. Things could have bean so different, eh! Oh I really wish you all the best Brian. You'll love it there. Just make sure you all have a good bicycle. You can't get anywhere without one!

I must say given the chance I'd move to Oxford in a heartbeat. Its between that or somewhere near the sea (currently thinking about Padstow or Weymouth).

Anyway, I am VERY excited for you brian. Well done indeed!

Bean

By the way...Debs is right. You simply HAVE to watch Inspector Morse, Endeavour and Lewis. You can't find a better guide to Oxford. Mind you, don't panic...there aren't that many murders there...at least I hope not!

@Winsome Hmmmm I googled Bicester village and I think we will be keeping that a secret for as long as possible. I can only imagine the damage Mrs B and our daughter will inflict on the credit card at a place like that.
