House of pain X 2

1) You would think that getting a pedicure would be 100% pleasurable, but oh no - in the salon I went to worked the Mistress of pain. Not only did she poke bamboo slivers under my big toenails (ok, might be exaggerating), but she went on to scrub the underside of my feet with a steel brush (hmm, maybe not steel) and my footsies wanted to run away. Maybe the means to an end (or is it the other way around?) even with feet, cause they are soft and the nails nicely polished.
2) You know I'm in post surgery rehab phase and the doc demanded that I get an exercise bike (so The DH did) to keep the joint running smoothly while healing. 25-30 minutes he said. Vojjne. Since I hardly have been able to use my right leg I'm as unfit as a koala or something as lethargic so that seamed totally impossible. But I have been going on that torture on wheels each day, all resistance is off, but round 5 min at a time. Today I got over 8 min twice and the last time went for it - as fast as I could with Golden Earing's Twilight Zone turned up loud. Holy cow, I even worked up a little pearl of sweat!! Plus- I have done my physio exercises - TWICE!! Gosh, I am such a good rehab patient.

Think I have earned more than 2 glasses of wine with the HB chili and homemade baguette :shock

I am just waiting for the 2 week line where the arthritic knees stop complaining and start thanking me for the exercise bike. Only one week in at the moment and they are reminding me why I need to exercise regularly.

As for the wine, enjoy it, you've earned it.

Ooh @Wolfie I would go somewhere else next time - I had a pedicure once and the lady poked around my cuticles a lot - the end result was that she damaged the nail bed and my toenail ended up dropping off, then it grew back into the side of my toe so I had to have a painful operation to have it removed which meant I couldn't exercise for several months. I have bought myself an electronic foot file today so I can give myself a good pedicure now!

How I hate these automatic spellchecks. The head should been "House of pain".

Julieathome - I had to wait for the stitches to come out (3 weeks) before I could start cycling.

But I still can't reach my toes and is not allowed to bend the knee to a lotus position (3 months there) so I have to get someone else to do my nails....for the time being.

I changed the title for you wolfie

Hope things improve rapidly so we can change it back to "win" soon!
