Being nosy again but how did you meet your significant other/partner or whatever you call him/her?!
In 1968 I was studying at a French Uni and made friends with another English girl from Liverpool. We kept in touch when we returned to the UK and at Christmas 1970 she invited me to a party while I was home visiting family up north from where I was teaching down in Kent. I had a boyfriend there but met OH at the party and went out with him a few times during the holidays.
Both boyfriends knew about each other and I remember one time when one put me on a train in London and the other met me off it in Liverpool! Anyway, to cut a long story short I decided OH was THE ONE and got a teaching post back up north.
We married in 1973 and celebrated our ruby wedding anniversary last year!

We met walking our dogs. We used to pass each other every day and then I requested him on Facebook. The rest is history!

We met in a chat room and we began fighting with each other as we had very different points of view. However there was an immediate strong connection but I was fighting it as much as I could fora lot of reasons. We took our time and 3 months later we couldn't hide our true feelings anymore for each other.

Since then it's passionate, we both have strong personalities and he loves to make me react plus he loves when I am jealous as well (a mild one not a crazy one as I know it's just a game and I have nothing to worry about)

Oh cally you are nosy aren't you?

I was just out of uni wanting to go to Australia. A friend got me a job in a duty free warehouse at Gatwick Airport, they had just automated the systems and I was the first female they took on there. I first noticed OH as he was sitting in the lunchroom reading Milan Kundera The Unbearable Lightness of Being. Enough to turn a girl's head that one!!

We didn't really talk that much but were part of a group. Apparently he noticed my Winnie the Pooh t-shirt! very cultured me!

We talked a bit, and then one night one of the boys invited us all out to celebrate the new baby. As I was one of the boys I went too. OH walked me home, a ten minute walk took a couple of hours!! I was staying in the house of one of the workers at the warehouse, he was very strange and OH came in about a week after we started going out and said I was moving in! I wasn't too sure as the first time I had met his mother I was hopelessly drunk, but she decided to overlook that in her Scandinavian way! She would wander into the bedroom and start talking while I squirmed with embarrassment! They were a very liberal family!

One day I went into Brighton to pay the rest of my flight to Australia and to my surprise OH got out his money and said I'm coming too! That was over 25 years ago and we're still enjoying travelling together!

Thanks Debs! The funny thing was the previous summer we had both worked as students at the same crisp making factory but he had done the night shift and I'd been on the day shift so our paths had never crossed!

Jamie and I have a very nerdy story lol. We used to play this computer game and we met when he was talking in a part of the game where everyone could see. I replied to him and it struck up a conversation. Then he went on a stag weekend with his friend and then I think he was away at T in the Park with his brother so I didn't speak him for awhile. Then one day I was playing the game and noticed he was online and we started talking again. A few days later we added each other on Facebook, exchanged phone numbers and started texting and calling each other daily. That lasted a couple of months until I plucked up the courage to travel to Scotland to meet him. That was about 2 and a half years ago. Now this April he's moving down to London to live with me

Oh gosh, mine is quite embarrassing....

A close work colleague and I were both going through marriage breakdowns. She'd been having an affair with our supervisor for 18 months but there was no-one else involved in mine... it was just a case of being together too young (met at 14, engaged at 16) - twenty years later I realised the love had died

So close friend's house was up for sale and her and her estranged hubby were struggling to pay the mortgage and bills. I wanted out from where I was so she suggested I move in as their lodger and then when their house was sold we could rent somewhere together as girlie mates.

I did the unforgiveable and left my children with my husband. For which I paid the penalty by irretrievably wrecking the relationship I had with my mother.... to this day she cannot forgive me but at the time I firmly believed that they would have less disruption in their life if they remained in the home they'd always known and carried on going to the same school. It wasn't a decision I made lightly and it broke my heart at the time. Their dad was a good, hands-on father who didn't drink, smoke or socialise...a real family man so I had no worries. Besides, I had worked evenings Monday to Friday for 7 years so they were all used to dad doing their tea, bathing them and putting them to bed. Ironically, now it is 16 years later and the kids and I all get on fine - and they don't really speak to their dad! Or their nan! But we all get along fine now they're grown up.

Anyway, I digress.... I moved in with my friend.... and six weeks later I realised I'd fallen in love with her husband!!! He felt the same and we've been together - very happily - for 16 years. Married for 10 in May

Suffice to say, the friendship with the wife went down the pan.... lol

(And for the record, she DID stay with the supervisor... they finally got married last year after all those years and have two children together....)

Mine is very boring, I met hubby at work, he had been mediced out of the military and was doing the finding his feet in civi life whilst still being paid by the military.

But we did get married with little in the way of notice when he had his military standby papers through. He had been out for a few years but the Gulf War had just blown up and lots of people with the military experience they thought they needed were put on 24 hour standby. I decided that if he was going to get shot at then I wanted the pension, rather unromantic but necessary. It was just before Christmas, we got a quicky license and married on the first date the registry office had spare (there was a LOT of military people getting married), which happened to be midday the 27th December (the day after Boxing Day). We handed out the wedding invites on Boxing Day when the whole family was at my Grandmothers. We went for a short break at Haven with the kids for the honeymoon, luckily he wasn't called up. We've been married now for 23 years. My mother said it wouldn't last.

I was nearly 14 and he was just 16 and he moved next door but one to me. WE have been together properly since we were 18.
