Well done KataMac and never mind about the break. You now know you can do it so, as they say, all things in moderation.
I'm considering eating a raw jelly cube or two for the gelatine boost later, it's decades since I have, it used to strengthen my nails.

Well done@Katamac I have been managing to cut out obvious sugar maybe for 5 or 6 days a week and having a treat now and then. I meet a friend every second Friday and we share a cake, I am not prepared to break a tradition of about 10 years for the sake of cutting out the calories contained in 1/2 a cake . The only trouble is that I do fight the urge for the rest of the evening not to go wild, it is interesting that you didn't lose weight. I think we are all guilty of blaming food groups for weight problems when it is the amount of all food types that we stuff away that is the problem. Thank you for the thread and for the insight of your experiment.
Well done on the 18 days, you did a lot better than my attempt to give up cream for Lent. Not that I was overcome with an overwhelming lust for cream, I was overcome by a senior moment when out with a friend for a walk and as she is a carer who finds it difficult to snatch time for herself we decided to end the walk with a cream tea. It was only driving home afterwards that I remembered I wasn't supposed to be eating it!
I hope you will have another go at kicking sugar in the future. It must have been disappointing that it coincided with a weight loss stall. I am going to see how I get on in April, hopefully my memory may start to improve!

haha, no, won't be giving it up completely again! I'd rather not cut anything out of my diet entirely - sure, I won't overindulge, but the cutting it out for a month was more of a mind game than anything else.
Though I didn't just not lose weight - I put on over a kilo! And that is the first time I've put on weight since starting 5:2 well over a year ago.
And oh, cream is a hard one to give up, so delicious and, um, creamy!
