Welcome back, and glad to hear the hip's now in fine form. I think we always discredit how much surgery in general and anaesthetics in particular take it out of us and make us feel like crap. Take it easy and you'll be up on that horse before you know it!

Welcome back Lady of the camelia!
Sorry to hear your men aren't pulling their weight, I need to get my OH over there to take over house keeping duties!
Hope you are up and about again soon though. X

Thank you all so very much for your lovely words and well wishes - it gladdens my heart  more than you know. I still not feel very well and it's good to hear from others that recovery will take it's time. The surgeon said hip replacement IS a major surgery, but do I want to listen and believe that? Sigh.

When it comes to The DH and cooking, well let's put it simple - he is spoiled beyond understanding by both his mom and then me. But the thing is, I am so particular about my food that I rather do it myself and get it the way I want it. Ever since the surgery my appetite is low (a bit nauseous still) and I can only manage small portions of food, so the food better be tasty. Good thing, I don't eat that many kcal ;)
Tonight will have Biff Rydberg http://www.food.com/recipe/biff-rydberg-beef-rydberg-delicious-beef-and-potato-dish-424623 and tomorrow pulled beef (in the oven right now) - not difficult or lengthy cooking dishes.

The biggest problem is - I can't drive until two more weeks have gone  Gosh how I hate to be dependent of The DH to get around....and he's going back to work on Monday so then I'm stuck. Have even contemplating do some grocery shopping on the web - horror ;)

Have a lovely Saturday all!

"Swedish men are known for their cooking abilities, ".........

I know it was not what you had in mind but I instantly thought of the Swedish chef in the Muppets and now I can't get the tune out of my head....thanks for that

Welcome back Wolfie and I hope to read soon that you are back flying, riding horses and doing all the others things you never did before. I'd book myself in for what you've had but I'm frightened of horses and have never wanted to be a pilot so I'll just stick to the tampons that enable us all to swim whether we want to or not. Also, if you can kick your men without hurting your hip then go for it otherwise, like everyone else, I'd recommend more, make that MUCH more, of the 'Camille having an attack of the vapours' act. :victory:

Ballerina x

Well, Wolfie, you started a thread that made me laugh. Hope it did the same for you - laughter is good for healing. I'm loving all that arm thrown over brow imagery.

It is probably good for you to get up and do dinner though it must be very painful still esp if you are avoiding the pain relief. Am sure I would have to do the same cook and avoid pain relief due to side effects

All the best Wolfie speedy recovery and enjoy your meals

So I'm unstitched which wasn't the most pleasant experience, but just bite and grind it LOL. The exercise bike is doctors order, pedal without any resistance 25-30 min each day to keep the joint running and healing smoothly.
The nurse looked like I was some kind of hero that had managed these three weeks on paracetamol only. But I am if not very resilient LOL.
And the good thing is that I can start to drive my car sooner than a month since me brain is not fogged up by "bad" meds.
