@LizbeanOops!
That's made me smile.
That's made me smile.
@Ssure @merlin
@carieoates next time we will eat too. I think we were so excited, well I was.
@Sassy1 yes I clocked you were visiting in our early posts. I'm very happy to coordinate a fastday meet up day for various activities - those who wish to lunch and those who wish to walk or explore this great city in different ways.
Merlin, glad I made you smile, I will take down the avatar and work out how to post the photo. I hope you had a good journey back home and all is well.
Ssure - I'm considering Kayaking as a way forward! Never say never. I wanted to, last time in Canada, I'm a bit gridlocked in London?
There we go - about to cook dinner at 10pm!
@Sallyo 2015 visit?

@LizbeanI admit I looked longingly at this post! No, it's Italy 2015. I'll be trying to meet up with Melbourne Fasters in January. But definitely, London one day! I hope you have a wonderful meet. I loved reading all the complicated travel arrangements.
Here's those two lovelies...L & M ! Xx

Oh @Sallyo WHAT? we are next door to ITALY! Come by us, we can explore your heritage. Do give it some thought.
@Sallyo or we may come to you in Italy.
@Lizbean, @Sallyo
Thanks Liz for your offer to coordinate a meeting - much appreciated! And for remembering that I had posted on this already.
Sally, we are going to Italy too! But I can't go to Europe without going to the UK to see family and friends. So we arrive in London Mon 1 June, leave for Italy on Fri 5, spend 2 weeks on Insight bus tour of Country Roads of Italy, return to Heathrow around Fri 19, pick up a hire car and race around England seeing whichever friends and family are available - Dorset, Yorkshire, Buckinghamshire (I may have said all of this in my other post...sorry). So I will also try to meet up with some regional forum friends. Won't have a lot of spare time tho...
And Sally, when will you be in Melbourne? I am away until around 11 Jan. . You must be pleased about the Vic State election! Btw, we have a trip to Tassie planned in March/April with the caravan if we get our act together...

@Sassy1: we are in Melbourne for my niece's wedding on the 25th. We are arriving the week before and will have a car. We will be based in Geelong but will certainly be going to Melbourne at some stage in there. We should start a new thread for a summer Melbourne meet up! As for Italy and the UK, I can't do both. We only have a month and less is more. I want to come to England later, with my sister, not my OH. Saying they are next door is like saying if you're going to Perth, you may as well go to Sydney. We hope to be there in October but nothing set in concrete yet. But @Lizbean, meet me in Rome! And yes, Sassy1, great election results in Victoria. Bring on the Federal election!
Hi again @Sallyo
When you know possible dates for a trip into Melbourne, start a thread then!
And I know what you mean about trying to see too much when o/s. We were going to do a "Tuesday it's Belgium" tour then decided that was too much travel so decided just to stick to Italy. Tho I agree that 2 weeks isn't long enough for one country - we'll just have to go again!! My situation is a bit different to yours. As England is my COB and all my relatives outside my immediate family are there, seeing them is a priority for me. And I have been very fortunate to have a few trips to the UK over the years, but have hardly seen anything of Europe.
And I echo your sentiments re the Federal election, tho that is a bit of a way off...

@Sassy1, you're the only other person outside of my family who seems to have heard of/seen that film and use that expression.Sassy1 wrote: We were going to do a "Tuesday it's Belgium" tour
@SSure, it would be years since I saw the movie, I barely remember it, but maybe Aussies use the phrase?? Btw I have always liked Ian McShane, though in his later years he does seem to play baddies a lot!
@Sallyo @Sassy1 this all sounds very exciting! Sallyo, you'll need to start off a Rome meet up thread too. Return flights are showing up for £60-£80
What a good idea @Lizbean - @carorees @PennyForthem @Ballerina
I see I'm no longer in your avatar-well done!
