Has anyone tried MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses)?
I've done several, they keep my brain active and help to take my mind off of my problems. They are free and each one lasts a few weeks, I don't bother with exams and quizzes, I had enough of that with the OU but most people do. I've signed up for twelve so far for 2014 with Coursera, FutureLearn and edX. It's fun and very addictive and just right for anyone retired from work or with plenty of time to spare. Last year I enrolled for many different subjects including History of Humankind, Epidemics, Dinosaurs, What a Plant Knows and Ecosystems.
I have two new courses starting today, Human Evolution and Jazz Appreciation. I'm so exited, like a child in a toyshop, I can't wait to dive in but first I have to take Maisie for her walkies.
