I am new to knitting and crochet but I love it! I also make cards and dabble in jewellery making. My little flat is full of crafty stash. It makes me very happy but I'm a bit like a dragon perched on a pile of treasure because I have nowhere else to store it all! I must get better at finishing projects!

At the moment I'm working on a fairy costume for a fancy dress party so I've had to learn to use an ancient, borrowed sewing machine. Turns out that isn't really my strong point!
I love crafts! I do a bit of knitting, crocheting, sewing, decoupage..... anything I fancy really lol. I've got a cupcake decorating class tomorrow that I am really looking forward to.

I have a little shop on Etsy where I sell some of the things I make, little plushies, bookmarks, brooches etc.

I love creating things, I get some a wonderful feeling when people like what I make them. And it's a good way to keep my hands busy in the evening when my hands want to find something to nibble lol.
I love sewing bags and purses, using fimo clay and at the moment I have gone back to crocheting my granny stripe blanket which I started last year, then left as I got a bit bored with it. Tried knitting but didn't get along with it so stuck to crochet :)
Im a crafter myself and have a small page on facebook. I love knitting (nothing fancy) and make fascinators and headpieces :D

Anyone of Pinterest?
Not really got to grips with pinterest yet! Must try to investigate it properly sometime.

I have managed to finish 2 socks recently...sadly not a pair though ! Trying to get on with the other half of a pair for DS whose sock drawer is in a sorry state!

Gearing up for a weekend of crafts as I'm off to the Manor House Hotel with nikipins for a session of heavy eating interspersed with some crafts. May have to do a 4-day fast next week to make up for it!
We are crafters here too. I started in my teenage years sewing my own clothes. Now the only sewing I do is curtains and roman blinds for the house.

My passion is cardmaking and when the notion takes me jewellery making.

My youngest daughter, aged 12, does cardmaking and it is a pleasure for us both to sit making christmas cards together.

My oldest daughter, aged 14, in a pain in the backside. If something looks like it could be glued or have double sided sticky tape on it then it will. She will take a cardboard box and make a 'poos hoos' (puss house) for one of our cats. She cuts up magazines, bits of wool, anything. She's tried to knit, crochet, sew, paint, draw. Her passion however is jewellery making and she has even sold some of her pieces on a stall at the school christmas fair. She will try anything except cardmaking!!!

Oh, Caroline, my husband also refers to my stash as 'tat'. He has a half done kit car Jeep in the driveway which I refer to as the 'Heep of Junk'!

I do a fair amount of quilting and have done a few pieces on commission. I haven't done much since I moved although I have ideas. I think I am just too busy doing other things. My current obsession is microscopy art, pics on my website if anyone is interested. http://WWW.miniaturehorizons.com

I have just started playing with knitting. Made myself a scarf and matching bag last month. :) I was inspired by an offer at lidl when they had some wool and needles for sale.
I'm sitting here knitting some stripy socks as I'm reading through these threads.
I love my knitting and am rarely without something in my hands.
I mostly knit socks for my 4 kids, kiddies things for friends with children, and for charity.
I am a member of Ravelry which has opened up a whole new world to me despite having been a knitter for 50+ years.
I used to knit and sew the children's clothes until they reached the age of not wanting home made things. I crochet, knit, sew, bake, make fudge, bread, jam, bottled fruits, chutney etc. I have been gathering things to make a quilt, something I have long wanted to do. At the moment we are living in a building site and my craft stuff is packed away. No where to set up my sewing machine. I have knitting on the go as have two grandsons under a year who always need new cardigans. I would like to get back to knitting socks as they are warmer and better. I spend most of my life in wellie boots due to free range chickens and ducks and a large veggie patch. One day, when the Gites are finished and my house is done I will have a sewing room. I have endless books dealing with craft projects I want to complete. One day!
I've never got the hang of knitting...I'm just so cack-handed. I think I'd be better at crochet, only one needle! I'm more of a stitched textile person - I've always had an afinity with sewing machines and I now teach machine embroidery. My blog is http://threadnoodle.blogspot.co.uk/ and it's not all about textiles. Mostly it's just ramblings...I'm particularly interested at the mo with creativity, personality/temperament and artist's block!
Bobshouse your lifestyle sounds idyllic!
All the fresh air and produce.
I'm glad you've got your knitting to keep you going.
There are lovely patterns for socks, and wellie toppers.
Are you a member of Ravelry?
Not yet! More things to do than time! Will go and have a look. Was signed up to Pinterest for a while but it was almost over whelming! I kept finding more things I wanted to try!

I presume he, on the other hand, considers it the "Jeep of Hunk"!

Came back from my trip to the Manor House with very little tat actually: a tea pot, to replace one with a broken lid (which OH actually liked and goes with some mugs I made last time), some wine glasses and a silk tie that I painted and started embroidering but didn't have time to finish. I was going to give it to OH on our wedding anniversary (in June) but not sure if I can get it finished in time...have not picked it up in the 10 days since I got back!
My mum taught me to knit when I was 6. She could knit anything & everything & was from an era when knitting was more a necessity than a hobby. Neighbours would ask her to knit stuff for their kids. I didn't knit for years as I would lose interest as clothes took so long. For about the last 15 years though I've been knitting mainly toys/figures & like to find unusual things. Amongst the things I've knitted are a gargoyle, garden slug, angler fish, Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, an orang utan a hibernating hedgehog complete with dressing gown & hot water bottle & wizard plus lots more. There's a bloke called Alan Dart http://www.alandart.co.uk & I love his patterns. The stuff I find on the internet is great. I'm very keen to try the cuddly scorpion pattern I found which looks anything but cuddly!. My husband loves me to knit socks for him. I recently taught myself to crochet but I don't like it as much as knitting.
Oh my you must have lots of patience.
I've knitted quite a few toys, but they are very fiddly.
Are you a member of Ravelry? It's a fantastic site, and I've learned so much since joining.
