I can't add anything more to what has already been said but my very best wishes go to you and your family at this incredibly difficult time.

This is the worst nightmare indeed and I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm not familiar with the healthcare system in Scotland but I happen to live near NYC where there are some of the best places in the world for cancer treatment for example Memorial Sloan Kettering hospital. Is there a chance that he can get here?

I am new on here, but I was so sad to see your post - it brings things back, and I know you are probably feeling pretty panicky. Do take the great advice of everyone on here, not least to stay in touch.

I had a friend who works as a McMillan nurse. They are wonderfully good at helping the whole family through, whether it is something that will be cured or not. Haven't seen him in ages, but I admired his ability to open his heart every day and just take people's fears in, and give reassurance and care back.

And while the specific cancers you mentioned are not in my experience, I do have experience from various family members fighting the C fight, and a friend who has terminal secondary cancers. They will all tell you the same thing - try to keep a positive mental attitude regardless, and if someone offers help take it.
