OH NO
01 Apr 2013, 06:46
Ohhhh NO. Just spent a nightmare weekend. Every mothers worst nightmare. I have found out that my son has stage 4 cancer in his tongue, throat and thyroid. He has to have radical surgery in three weeks time. He has an eight month old baby. Don't think I have the will to go on with this at this time. I thank everyone for their support while I have been on here. You are a great bunch. Good luck to you all.

Hi Irene,
As you say "every mothers worst nightmare" but stay strong, the medical teams can do so much now-a-days. My thoughts are with you & yours.

So many of us will be thinking about you and yours, maybe a blog would be a good idea ? Just somewhere "private" you can jot down anything that comes to mind be it sensible or not xxx

Hello Irene,
I'm so sorry to hear your devastating news.
The main reason for my reply though, is to let you know that my husband is recovering from stage 3 mouth cancer, (tonsil, tongue and lymph nodes) which was diagnosed last October, and although it's been one hell of a tough journey, he is now getting better, so I really hope your son, being younger, will get through this with all your love and support.
I found the Macmillan community forum excellent for reassurance and help when things looked bleak and you may also find that this helps you.
Also, if you would like to pm me direct anytime, please feel free. It does often help to talk to someone who's been through the same thing.
In the meantime, sending you lots of hugs at this difficult time.
Evie xx
