Best thread ever. I never expected to see EM and sex toys in such close proximity.

Louise, do you have any experience with miniSOG? It is currently the bane of my existence.

Anyway, hobbies. I've been trying to learn piano for two years now. Unfortunately first a ganglion cyst and now a broken arm have gotten in the way. I've also vaguely given Shodo (Japanese calligraphy) and Sumi-e (Japanese ink painting) a go, but have never found the time to pursue them seriously. Maybe that's a good one armed activity while my left arm is recovering.

I have yet to try it, although I am watching developments with interest. I am working with some of the latest 3D EM techniques such as FIBSEM and SBFSEM, I would like to combine them with miniSOG but need to complete these projects first. What tissue/sample type are you working on?

I am certainly enjoying this thread :D We are a diverse group.

Hope your arm heals soon.
Well some shall I say interesting hobbies
Mine aren't anywhere near as much fun. Cross stitching, breadmaking, cheese making (just a ricotta type so far). Heard someone on the radio talking about making yoghurt so I might look into that.
Biggest hobby at the moment is probably reading this forum, quite often whist falling off the chair laughing.
In my free time I run a website or two ;)

I'm a creative one too, a bit of beading, sewing and random crafts that take my fancy. I also love baking and have done a bit of cake decorating (photos on my Facebook). Used to make a lot of stuff with fimo too.

I love cats and fish :) we only have one cat as she's an old girl (16) and doesn't like other cats. Given the chance I'd be a proper crazy cat lady! Yes, I'm one of those people who will stop to talk to & fuss every cat I encounter.
My love of fish extends to two hobbies - but never to the dinner plate. I can't stand seafood. Hubby and I currently have 4 aquariums, one of which is marine. We did have 6 over Christmas while I was breeding golden wonder panchax for fun :)
We also love fishing, but haven't had much chance to do it this last year. Being on the coast it's mostly saltwater - boat, beach, lure. Hubby loves his fly rod too. We've got a little boat (sounds posh, I know, but she's just a little 13' open deck boat, nothing fancy) which we take out in Portland harbour now and then.

I'm also a gamer at heart, big Shining Force fan - but I doubt anyone here has heard of it! Love the classic SimCity and Elite games too. Currently playing X-com on the PS3.

Loving hearing about what everyone else enjoys - especially the wooden dildos, do you take orders?! :)

We should have a thread about people's jobs too, that'd be interesting!
Beekeeping for honey and quail keeping for eggs and cooking are mine atm
painting and drawing, knitting, gardening - all a bit on the back burner at the mo, due to life getting in the way (and also this forum, but that's a welcome intrusion  )

Oh and reading, but I guess you might have guessed that one already ...
Another reader here :) I also love this highly entertaining forum and the theatre (on, off and back stage).Hubby has a sports car which we tootle about in when weather permits and we've been know to attend a car event or two :car:
Hi all

my hobbies are pretty boring compared to some here! :-)
i love dogs and i have two so i spend my restdays looking after them, also have a dozen chickens lol, love music, old soul especially........and also i enjoy reading and art too, as i work in an art gallery :-)

happy sunday everyone!!!! :like: :clover:
@Juliana.Rivers lucky you to keep quail. Hubby's family used to breed them, they are yum.
Julieathome...you make wooden sex toys...........and you want a chainsaw!......

Errr just how big are these "toys" ?? ( eyes watering with the thought)

Me, my hobby is eating....that's why I'm here on this forum :(
I turned my previous favourite hobby, baking, into my job :-) After two years of college I'm now taking orders from bistros, cafés and I have a stall at a local farmers' market. The only downside is that now I'm baing in quantity for paying customers it's a lot more stressful than it used to be!!
My other interests are reading, theatre and Tae Kwon Do :-)
This has made me absolutely howl with laughter...
The chainsaw id to cut logs down to fat plank sizes for drying. I have a lovely piece of walnut given to me that is 6 foot long and correspondingly fat. I am having to nag the lads to cut it down for me. A chainsaw would help.

And yes, I do take orders. I am only using beech at the moment and a maximum of 35mm width. But lots of bumps and ridges if wanted.
First of all, Miffy, what a wonderful thing to do!!!

And... all we are missing is a friend of Julie's to say that her hobby is to use the fruit of Julie's hobby. Yes, Ballerina, I did say FRUIT.

Yeah they are so fun to look after. Whilst im prepared to breed for food, we do the quail for eggs. They mostly "free range" in a bit of enclosure i set up. Get 4 or 5 eggs a day but its still winter in Sydney so my 10 hens should give us 10 a day soon. .

pic of my darlings.

Guess which is the male quail
