These are our preparations, a few days away... what are yours?

Goose out of freezer into fridge to begin defrost
Champers into fridge
Port into house from garage (2004 vintage so hub says. Won't be trying it)
Wine into house to warm up
Roasties par boiled and in freezer.
3 kinds of stuffings made and in freezer
liqueurs in the house to warm
Some darned fine Sloe Gin sampled for quality
Pud finally laced with brandy.

Do not run away with the idea that ours is a boozy Christmas.....
Just don't light any matches ... You'll be flambéd!
The only thing you need to worry about @Silverdarling is the strength of the Sloe gin I'm currently sampling. It's pretty much industrial strength.
Thanks for this, you've just reminded me to crowbar the turkey out of the freezer.
I still have the main shopping to do yet and am planning to do it either Monday or Christmas Eve. We can risk it then as there is nothing really essential that we need, or we can do without for the two days the shops are shut.
I've seen that our local Morrisons is open Boxing day. Is nothing sacred?

I think most of the big supermarkets are actually opening on Boxing Day yet to see the way people's trolleys are loaded up you'd think they were stocking up for a three month siege!
don't see the need myself for shops to open but I suppose once one does the other all follow suit.
I never remember them being open on Boxing Day before.
Tomorrow's countdown includes some last minute shopping, including Gin

and tonic

Two things PFT..last boxing day morning ventured out to see if any shops were open,as a guest needed tampons ..our local Co op was open and wait for it - the staff were putting Easter Eggs on the shelves!
The other thing...was talking to an acquaintance who is a jeweller the other day..said he always opens on Boxing Day! Said is one of the busiest days of the year...
Penny i am FAR too busy with my duties for your party to even THINK of anything else!
Um, let's see...
Get back to the sandpit from the lovely Budapest tomorrow night
Doing Christmas early as diving daughter is off on the 23rd and beside us. :victory: She'll be working Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
So...
Buy food, cook food, find pressies, wrap pressies, decorate and be at work.
Something's got to give.
Ach, I've got plenty of champagne. It'll be fine!
Santa express with one lot of grandchildren tomorrow in Hampshire ,then home ready for the next set of grandchildren and parents who arrive on Monday. Yes I am organised or I would be neurotic!
I have everything to do. Think I need some of Penny's gin to get me through the next few days
Chill babes, chill
Have some sloe gin and all will be well
