What a great thread. Thanks greenmonster. I'm not in need of a hug at the moment. But here's sending one out to everyone who needs it. I do have the philosophy that there's always someone worse off than myself. Nice to know there'll be one there waiting for me when I need it. X

A group hug to all who are struggling, having personal crises, or just plain need a hug.

Thanks for starting this. There just isn't enough kindness in the world anymore.

I'll start by throwing out a hug for anyone struggling with a family member being ill - makes me grateful for the health of my family at the moment.

Great idea greenmonster - entirely in the spirit of the forum :victory: just returned from taking my mum on a respite break - she looks after my dad 24/7 and has done for the last 3 years .. He has Multiple Systems Atrophy and is slowly deteriorating. It is very hard on her, as well as other family members - and there have recently been other family worries to cope with as well ...

But - picked up new car, then off to Scotland for a wonderful few days in Pitlochry (waved at dhana, Nessie, Fatdog et al as drove over Forth Road Bridge) spent £££ at House of Bruar, saw the pipe bands march down the main street in Pitlochry (highland games day) and ... eaten loads of nice food

So returning the hugs and sending a few more ...
:handshake: :handshake: :handshake:

Great idea for a thread Greenmonster.
This photo is what I go to when I need a hug so I'm pleased to share.
She( DD) always looks so cuddly and warm and contented that I have to feel better. I've kept it handy for 20 years!
So this is my hugs to anyone who needs them. x

Please include me too and huge hugs to all those fellow fasters who are also feeling unwell today. Thankfully it's not a workday for me today so I'm snuggled up in bed and keeping warm with this forum for company  :victory:

Had to go for a distatefull thing today but decided to do it only friday. I know it's procrastinating but I want to push it as much as I can. I give you my words, I won't try to find another excuse friday :worship:

Gigi I have the same kind of pic when I need a hug, my nephew, when he was about 2, in a bathtub with the warmest smile on his cute little face. Now that "baby" is a 25 years old man.... Gosh I feel old.....

Right then who needs a hug? I have an ex competitive swimmers pair of shoulders and arms on me, and a fare pair of puppies, to cushion the crush going if needed!!!!!

I also have a mad collie dog who loves to sit on your lap and give kisses available, free of charge of course.

Hugs and positive vibes to anyone out there that needs it x

I liberated this from M&M's forum as its so good.

Fasting : a poem by Jelaluddin Rumi
A poem on the joys of fasting by Jelaluddin Rumi, who was born in what is now Afghanistan in 1207.

Fasting
There’s hidden sweetness in the stomach’s emptiness.
We are lutes, no more, no less. If the soundbox
is stuffed full of anything, no music.
If the brain and belly are burning clean
with fasting, every moment a new song comes out of the fire.
The fog clears, and new energy makes you
run up the steps in front of you.
When you fast, good habits gather like friends who want to help.
Fasting is Solomon’s ring. Don’t give it
to some illusion and lose your power,
but even if you have, if you’ve lost all will and control,
they come back when you fast, like soldiers appearing
out of the ground, pennants flying above them.
A table descends to your tents, spread with other food,
better than the broth of cabbages.

Love it :0D

Azureblue- thank you for this poem, I love it SOOOOO much.
It is very beautiful.
( Mind you I'm glad I can skip the cabbage soup)

Nothing wrong with good cabbage soup, gigi55. Please put me in the hug. Dis-functional family always in the mix. And accept my hugs for others who suffer.

Can I have some hugs, pretty please.

Yesterdays doctors visit has confirmed on top of everything else, I now have infected ears (both ears), tennis elbow and depression. The depression is a medical thing that will be cured next week when my hormones are put back in balance. The rest of me is still rattling with meds, and has various lotions, potions, ungents, creams or drops applied to various parts on a regular basis.

I'm just feeling old and tired today and a bit sorry for myself. So hugs are needed.
