Group Hug Thread
17 Sep 2013, 13:12
Seems like a few of us have been struggling recently - either with 5:2, or with something else that's going on in their lives (or something else making fasting difficult). I have been feeling the same - weeks of gaining and losing the same couple of pounds was really getting me down and I think I've been getting a bit obsessed with the old scales and not seeing the bigger picture of health benefits and focussing on all the positive things going on.

So I thought I'd post a Group Hug thread - where you can ask for, and receive a hug from the general group (hopefully, if anyone reads this!!!)

I'll start by throwing out a hug for anyone struggling with a family member being ill - makes me grateful for the health of my family at the moment.

Group hugs for whatever struggle you can have

September is often a difficult month for people around me. The sun is gone, it's cold, the days are shorter and, here, in 10 days we even change time. So, to explain, now i's 3:40PM, in 3 weeks, at this hour, it will be 2:40PM

:handshake: Today is our 17th wedding anniversary  , second marriage, neither of us made it past 10 years previously. So we awarded ourselves an enormous box of chocs, flowers, shortbread, and strawberries and cream for tea.
What diet?

I'll join the group hugs if there's still room for one?

I've been going through some stuff myself but always try to bring myself up again and this forum has really helped me... so lots of positive hugs from coming at you!!

Always room for many more hugs. Getting very warm and fuzzy in here!

I've had a really good day today - got lots of work done, done the shopping and got well ahead on my chocolate orange cake for a cake competition we're having at work on Friday. Homemade orange curd and chocolate stars made - much spoon licking! Not a fast day of course - and the reason I feel great and achieving today? I had breakfast! Yes ok I had coffee and scoffed some chocolate at 10am but that put even more of a rocket up me and I've been cooking on gas all afternoon (literally - that orange curd took ages to thicken!) - if I don't have breakfast (apart from fast days) I just feel all wishy washy and don't get things done.

Looking forward to Bake Off tonight with a small glass of vino - stuff the 'no weekday drinking' rule tonight!

Hugs all round!

Oh, I seriously need a hug today. My oldest friend lost her mother today. The mother has been like a second mother to me for these past 40 years. She was a wonderful woman, full of grace, dignity, and Southern charm. I am very sad for myself (because I know I will miss Virginia), but especially sad for my friend. Please send any and all hugs my (and my friend's) way.

Thank you.
