I'm thinking that´s enough
08 Aug 2013, 07:16
My target is (was) 64 kg (10st 2lb in old money) it wasn't picked out of the air, it's the weight I was when we got married 20 years ago & it would be exactly 2 stone lost.

However 23 weeks & 44 fasts, this morning I weigh 65kg (I don't put it on my tracker until I've seen the weight for a full week & I know it's not a fluke!) & I'm thinking I'm starting to feel a bit thin. OK. So my thighs are still too large, but I know from experience that they always will be, but my hips are really sticking out now & I kinda like to have some curves.

Much as I wanted to reach that target, I'm thinking maybe it would be one little step too far.

Might switch to maintenance a little earlier than planned.

Will have a contemplate & keep you informed, but just wanted to share these considerations (a very good thing to be considering :like: )

Congratulations on your weight loss. I think you have an excellent attitude to your situation. After all, e.g. in six months time if you see a reason to go down to your original goal you have the method to do so.

Wishing you all the best for your maintenance.

Well done! I think you've done brilliantly :) It is so difficult to pick a target when you don't know how you'll look or feel when you get there!

Hi Annie Well done on reaching your ''almost'' goal
I set my goal about 2stone. (28lbs) ighter than what I probably should be
But I've always said that I believe I will truly be happy when I get there I've lost about 29 lbs and my shape etc with this WOL is amazingly different to other weight loss regimes I now know that my 1st goal will be perfect  it doesn't really matter what the numbers say it's what our shape + measurements say :like: Congratulations and the best of luck :clover: with your maintenance plan  Sue

YAY well done. Are you the same shape as you were when you got married? I know I'm a very different shape than I was a few years ago and think that the target weight of a low BMI would be a) impossible and b) leave me looking quite ill.
If you feel good and maintenence lets you stick at that weight then it would seem to be 'right' for you
congrats !

WELL DONE ANNIE :like: If you're happy with how you look and feel now then stop trying to lose and start maintenance. You set the target and as it's a woman's prerogative to change her mind  you can alter your goal. It can be difficult to know when to stop. And the really hard part is getting the balance between face and body looking good! I'm torn myself - I know i need to shed more from my arms and tummy but there's the danger that my face will get too thin. If only we could choose where the weight was to come off!!! Anyway Good Luck :clover: with whatever you decide. X

Well done AnnieD!

When I started this WOE back in January, I set my goal weight at 12 stones (196lbs).
I've now stuck at 11.10 and have the goal of getting down to 11 stones.

I can quite understand your decision, based on your current perception of yourself. It's important to 'feel good in your skin' and if that's 65kg, not 64, then be happy!

AnnieD thank you for this thread it has been good to read because I think I might be in the same boat. I did wonder about choosing a valid goal with time has altering our body shapes e.g. difference with post childbearing body and also as we age and with regard to face and parts of our bodies which are not shedding as we wish and may never.

I know someone wrote about how BMIs are different when we are older so getting into a BMI range may also be too much of a loss to aim for. I agree you are your best judge as to when to decide you are where you want to be. Congratulations and thanks again for sharing lovely pics. Best of luck with maintenance now

That's fantastic, well done Annie! :like: I think the most important thing is how you look and feel, the numbers on a scale are secondary to that. My goal is around where you are now and I'm curious to see how I feel about it as I get closer (about 5 kg to go). Look forward to hearing how maintenance goes for you!

Well done!
I think I'm in the same situation - too ambitious in my weight loss. I was aiming for 9 stone 7lbs. But now I'm going to stick at around 10 stone or just under - the weight was going off my arms and face, which made me look older too! Waist stayed rather the same sadly.
I've had a pretty calorific holiday, put on 4lbs but cut it back fairly easily. So now I'm doing a very relaxed 5:2. Like yesterday, went out with a friend on a fast day and was tempted by a Danish pastry. And succumbed! But then the rest of the day was low cal. so that seemed OK.
