If you only had 600 calories yesterday that was near enough a fast-I suspect mine usually end up around there- so really you were trying back to back fasting and working! It is no wonder your body rebelled a bit- relax and don't get fixated by numbers.

Caroline, I think you could consider yesterday as a fast day as 600 cals is only a bit over. I remember Pennyathome saying that she usually ate more like 6-700 cals on her fast days and consistently lost weight. I think its really important to listen to your body. Thats what you did yesterday when you did not feel like eating much and thats what you did then today when you felt faint and strange- you needed food so you ate. Its all good.

Hi Caroline

I also echo the comments above.

Totally understand how you feel disappointed when you set yourself a goal and didn't make it :(
But you had very good reasons for changing/ deferring the goal.

Sometimes we need to "fail" (not attain a goal) - it can make us stronger in future.

You strike me as a very strong person - I have greatly benefited from reading your posts, and hope that this forum is giving back to you in return (I am sure it is! :D).

Very best wishes
Sassy

Good grief you lot i am touched and overwhelmed beyond belief. Thanks so much for your honest and helpful comments. I believe that I'm a bit out of sorts at the moment and going to just 16.8 for the foreseeable future.. You may have noticed that I am a very focused, determined little thing and as my mum says. I may not look like I'm listening, but I do, then I go away, think about it and then make my mind up what my action is going to be then Blooming well do it.
I've had laughed, cried, learnt and pondered about posts on this forum and now it,s my turn to get support. Good god. I'm going to be so bored after weds. I hope you guys can cope with me.......And once again thankyou so much.

Hi Caroline, sorry I'm late to the party! What the others said, but most of all just wanted to tell you that I bailed out for the first time today AND it was planned. I went late night shopping and for a lovely meal. I couldn't do it at any other time this week, neither could I fast any other day this week. I enjoyed every minute and mouthful. Glad to see that you have come to terms with it now, it really doesn't matter. Best wishes for next week x

What a difference a day makes.
I have now closed my Christmas club stint as have exceeded my goal, only by 1lb, but still it's a positive.
Needless to say I am delighted with my journey so far and would like to switch over to maintenance for a while due to my op. @Moogie how do I do this on my tracker?
I'm out tonight with a massive bunch of girls from my exercise classes, two glasses of wine and I'm asleep these days so will have to pace myself. Lol

Congrats on reaching your goal! :D
When you enter your weight loss in the tracker, just select that you're aiming to maintain rather than lose. Unfortunately at the moment it's not yet set up to bear this setting in mind when calculating your average loss (bear with me, been super busy recently and not had time to continue the tracker changes I'd been working on) but it does mark it on your graphs and prevent it counting 'against' the weight loss in the overall forum stats.

Congratulations on achieving your goal @carieoates, as others have said, 600 calories is a fast, I often went over that and still lost weight. I've messed up dozens of fasts, so if that was your first failure then you have done well.

All the best for your op next week.

 Caroline that's not a bailout its a sort of semi fast in my eyes if I have 1000 calories then its a good day unlike the 3000 I probably had in the past, so yes draw a line under it and count it as OK because it was.

Concentrate on getting yourself right for surgery and if that means missing a fast on Monday so be it
We'll all be here for you when you return to fasting after your operation. Good. Luck :clover: :clover: Sue :clover: :clover:
