No longer cross with 5:2
19 Dec 2013, 08:06
Okay, I know last week I was really mad at 5:2 and a lot of friends on here talked me out of quitting, I have rethought my approach to 5:2 and I think it was to do with not drinking enough on my fast days. I was drinking 2 cups of black tea and barely any water...I have switched that this week, no tea at all on fast days, hot water (lots) cold water (some) and fruit tea (one mug) and after my second fast of the week (I did Monday/Wednesday this week to fit in with work stuff) I am at my lowest weight for a long time!! I'm 1lb off my Christmas target...I MAY go in for another fast on Friday but I probably won't as my mother was freaking out I've already done two this week- she's still not supportive  However, I wanted to share that I finally shifted those pounds I thought were fat and weren't, just water :D

Great new DD - sometimes we forget the basic things - like taking in enough liquid!!

 Great news dreamer and congratulations on getting closer to your xmas goal  can't you tell your mum its going to be a 16:8 just to pacify her, with a very
cautious lunch.
On the subject of water I'm also guilty of almost dropping my water intake on all days and as I've just had my
first weight gain I will increase the water starting today
so thanks for the prompt. :clover: :clover: Good Luck Sue. :clover:

Great news daydreamer. That light bulb moment has saved the day. I'm also going to nudge my water intake up even though I'm doing 16.8

Yay! Great news Daydreamer! This WOL definitely teaches us patience I find. Big time. Just keep chugging along and only take notice of the lowest morning weight you eyeball that month ( at your lowest weight of your monthly cycle) . I just laugh at the weekly variants because they vary 2.5 KGS consistently from the lowest of a Friday morning to the highest of a Monday morning. Who cares. They are just interesting numbers . it works for me! The trend is downward and thats the main thing. Keep going. Im cheering for you.

This is such an encouraging and heart warming story, thanks for sharing

I drink a lot of herbal teas but I struggle with water. I like your idea of warm water in the sub-zero temps we're having in Boston (why hadn't I thought of that). Someone suggested adding lemon and honey, not sure about the honey but I'll consider the lemon

Well done again - keep at it, you're so close to your target :-D
