Thanks so much everyone!

If @BruceE hadn't been so successful, it would have been harder to stick to. But watching him get so much healthier kept me on track, because at the very least, I was helping him  But he will probably like being referred to as "arm candy"

So yes, @Sue.Q I was really hoping that I might give someone some hope to persevere! Bodies are such weird, frustrating things, aren't they?
Wonderful post and great perseverance. Congratulations!
Congrats Tracie - you prove that persistence pays off! Hope you have a lovely holiday :-)
Nice. Patience is the key with this type of weight control. This is no eat rabbit food only, no carbs at all each and every day and lose several kilos a month type of diet, and nor should it be. I have this thing about the forum's progress tracker purple line. As long as its in the right direction its good, no matter what the angle of the slope

Well done!
So pleased for you Tracie, & inspired too! Your persistence has really paid off....& is an example to us all.

Sometimes, when the scales don't reflect all the effort you put in, it can be really disheartening, but you seem to have gritted your teeth & carried on regardless! I so admire that!

I hope you have a wonderful holiday - you deserve it....xx

So pleased that things are going right for you at last - you deserve it

Good going, Tracie! I'm envious of your travel plans...

And I'm quoting you here, as I'm amused at how we're all getting a bit anglisized on our side of the pond, from spending too much time on the forum - wouldn't we normally say "going on vacation"?

Honestly, if it weren't for my husband, I never would have stayed the course. He was not only extremely supportive, telling me I was doing the right thing for my health regardless of whether the weight was coming off and telling me "well, if you weren't sticking with it, you'd be gaining right now with the low thyroid numbers."

But also, *he* was losing weight and getting so much healthier. So I wasn't just doing it for me, I was helping him.

LOL Wendy - too true! But (a) I have always been a bit of an anglophile - my grandmother was a HUGE anglophile and (b) you do want to make yourself understood! LOL Oh yes, and all that Dr. Who and Torchwood rubs off as well ;-)
