Post Christmas

So I'm not going to lie- over Christmas I was naughty, and I just got back from a week with my boyfriend where I didn't fast once and didn't even try to make sensible choices. I'm certainly suffering today when I stepped on the scales and was horrified to find I gained over half a stone!!! I am disappointed with myself but really expected nothing less considering my poor choices. Certainly going to be 4:3 week this coming week and possibly next week to make up for it.... All my hard work gone so quickly :(

Ach, you'll get right back into it dreamer!
A week with your boyfriend is worth so much more.
You'll be fine
and if you're not...the wet fish will come out! :D

It cannot possibly be ALL fat, take that as a consolation, it's got to be some water weight due to carbohydrates. It will go!

Wondered where you'd got to daydreamer! Aw, never mind about the gain, you've had a great time and a good blow out and you know exactly have to get things moving in the right direction again. Best of luck!

Oh you're not the only one.... don't be sad.... you'll soon get on track. I bet you enjoyed all that yummy food, so why feel guilty? Re-take control and get back on the wagon - it CAN be done!

My mantra was supposed to be "moderation" but I'd bought so many Christmas goodies that I tucked in and failed miserably. I'd even been too busy to run for a fortnight before the festive season so I'd stopped my additional calorie-burning help. I've put on a whopping 6lbs but have pledge to have lost it again by Valentine's day. I'm a little disappointed in my lack of self-control BUT I know now that I do have the willpower to be able to lose the weight. Christmas is the only time of year when I fill the house with lots of tempting stuff and a BIG chunk of it has gone now and I don't feel that sense of loss of control, I'm seeing it as having relaxed and enjoyed myself after all the good work I did last year. My jeans are tighter but 6lbs on compared to the 47 I lost last year is only a small(ish) percentage... and it will be gone again soon....I've fasted a couple of times and felt a lot more "cleansed" afterwards and I have re-commenced running (and still love it, thankfully!) so I'm getting there. Tomorrow is the day I start to take it all seriously again. My husband had his birthday on Friday and circumstances made it a horrible day so I am treating him to a curry today.

I keep telling myself, it's not what I've eaten between Christmas and New Year that matters, it's what I eat between New Year and Christmas :)

Hi daydreamer,

If you can move faster than a wet fish then I'd get back on that wagon pronto otherwise........ Do I have to spell it out to you?

As others have said, you can do it and you will. Good luck, let us know how many fasts it took to dump the lump

I gained back the few pounds that I had lost over the holidays too. I was disappointed, but then I realized that if I hadn't lost those few pounds beforehand then I would've gained even more!! And I agree with others that the first few pounds should come off quickly!

 Oh there you are @daydreamer21
No I agree with @Auriga can't be all fat, got to be carb related water deffo just get back on with the job of repairing the damage done you know how to do that, mine luckily was 1kg but January is usually a far worse month for me so I'm doing
A half/semi fast today then 2 or maybe 3 fasts before my usual Friday weigh-in.
 We can beat this now because we know how to

Well said @Domane And yes it's the next 11months that are more important and in relation to what's been lost a small increase and probably not all fat, but xmas is a time for enjoyment and I for one have learned one thing for sure I will be buying less chocks + nuts + nibbles for the silly season deffo!! and have already told the rellies who bought me the chocks + bickies that it wasn't a good idea if I've offended any of them TUFF because as my hubby is good at clearing all sorts of rubbish away it's not a good idea that he does
First Christmas on this WOL and lessons learned deffo!!!!!!!

Sorry for my absence all, I have missed you all very much but it was just too hectic with Christmas and then travelling to Scotland and making up for 9/10 weeks of not seeing my other half :) I'm sure my weight gain is not all fat but I do feel as if I have gained some, my new jeans for Christmas are starting to feel tight :\ so yes I am doing 3 fasts this week and I think 3 fasts next week to kick start it again and then back into my regular 5:2 routine. I don't feel like I over-indulged THAT much, but I certainly didn't fast last week lol.

*waves* good to have you back and I'm sure you'll get back into the fasting groove in no time.
Where were you in Scotland? *homesick again*

Near Dumfries- it was very soggy there, I was surprised I didn't need a boat to get home rather than a train lol.
Yeah I'm sure that I'll get back into fasting quickly, it's like riding a bike really, you don't forget how to do it just need a bit of practise again!

 Morning @daydreamer21
Well done on the 3 fast pledge I'm also doing 4:3 again
Why not pop into the "low carb tent/marquee/orangery"
Reducing my carbs kickstarted my weightloss before xmas so we're all doing it together

Edit::: to say I see you've already popped your head into the
"Low carb tent ". well done this can be only good for
us both.

Thanks for all the encouragement Sue! I have been having some carb withdrawal I think today- major headache despite drinking a ton of water. But yes, for the next couple of weeks I'm going to 4:3 and drop my carb intake as much as I can. I have so many chocolates/sweets/biscuits left over in my house those, I don't know how I am going to resist the temptation!!! MUST.BE.STRONG

Good luck to you on all your fasts @Sue.Q
