Delighted or Disappointed?

Everyone else has already given great advice so there's no point in me reiterating but I just wanted to pop in and say you can do it! We're all here to support you :)

It does get so much easier with time. That's not to say that every fast will be a breeze but the majority will be and with a bit of determination you can get through it and feel so pleased with yourself (and the results!) for sticking with it.
It gets easier. In fact you may even find yourself enjoying them eventually! No worries about planning what to eat, and think of the money you are saving. My tip is to keep busy and try and think about how good those skinny jeans will look. Go for a walk to take your mind off the hunger pangs if you are getting them. And think about what you can eat tomorrow.
Don't give up yet!

Good advice

You're not going to die from feeling a bit hungry.
I think most of us felt like this in the beginning. There is a mind/body thing going on. Your body is complaining because your doing something different and as much as you want to be doing it your mind is fighting with you as well. You can do it. It does get easier. It does work. Go for it and keep positive. (I think I could do with a spoonful of my own medicine at the moment  )
It's taken me a long time (3 months) to work out my preferred fast method.
When I started, I had 3 small meals; now I can go to the evening meal.
Like any new thing, give it time and adapt it to suit you.
If greedy guts here can do it, you can too..
Help, I too am thinking of giving up but because I put on a pound last weigh day, and stayed the same the week before that, not because I'm finding it too difficult! I SO want to continue but I need to lose weight (half a stone would be enough) for my daughter's wedding in July. I was initially having lots of treats etc on feed days but I'm really being good now. Trying to do as others have, and vary calorie input on eating days by having a 'lighter' day then a more calorific one (between approx 1500 and 2000 cals) but no joy yet. Next weigh day is Thursday, fasting again tomorrow. Any ideas, suggestions or advice?? By the way, I endorse what others have said, fasting definitely gets easier the more you do.
Don't give up without putting up a fight. It's worth the effort.

As totally crazy as it sounds now, Claire, a lot of people actually look forward to a fast day! I bet you will be one of those people in a few weeks
Thank u everyone!! Its 9pm and will soon be bedtime, I had an innocent veg pot and a bag of salad for dinner, I am hungry now but not as bad as last fast at this time. I am feeling positive about Thursday's fast, I am considering fasting sun and thurs next week to see how I fair doing it at home as I found it quite hard at work with the light head, although as a lot of you have said this gets easier
Well done, you have done a lot better than me today I was doing well and then my boss bought me a doughnut and drink specially for me at lunch which would have been rude to turn down, and then low and behold I get home and Dad has been shopping and bought me a pizza and a krispy creme, so my fast day went down the pan...will try again tomorrow!
ummm pizza lol!
Ah well, tomorrow is a new day!! As long as you enjoyed everything that's the main thing!
yes! and I can't remember the last time I ate a jam doughnut and then two come along just when they are not needed! ....couldn't believe it when I got home...boss and dad were both really kind that I couldn't bring myself to tell them I was meant to be fasting.
Nikki, if your boss and your dad are used to do these nice gestures, perhaps you should tell them just to avoid being in this position again in the future...
I was planning to not tell anybody but my dad's and best friend's habits to arrive with hands full of yummy stuff made me decide to tell a few people. :-)
Hi Claire I went to bed on gin on my first fast & around 1000calories, 2nd around 750, hungry but not as desperate as first. 3rd around 650 calories and only blew the 500 @ teatime as had to prep tea for boys before my own. Yesterday I completed my 4th fast and I cant tell you how much easier it was. Yes I was hungry but I simply drank some more, which got me through. Slept well & feel great today.

Im counting all going in & although I knew I ate a lot, I now realise just how much. I have always struggled with diets and never stick to them because I do like food! Im finding this easier so far as its only one day at a time. I can eat what ever I choose the next day, this helps soooo much!! To be honest though I am finding that I already dont need as much and I am altering my food composition. This am for example I had 2 slice of wholemeal toast, two scrambled eggs, & 150g cherry toms pan fried in a teaspoon of olive oil, yummy. What I didn't have was butter on my toast, I always have butter on my toast but I decided to forgo the pleasure in order that I could eat something else within my 2000 cal for the day. Who knew that it could be this simple?

I start each fast day with a plan but if I needed to eat as I was feeling tricksey, I would eat & not beat myself up. Thats the beauty of this diet. Its just one day at a time, if you don't manage to reduce to around 500 cal. you can always try again tomorrow.

GOODLUCK HONEY, YOU WILL FEEL GREAT WHEN YOU CRACK IT!! XXX
Yesterday was my 3rd fast day (mon/thurs) I had my evening meal on Sunday at about 6:30pm then nothing until my fast day when I had a breakfast of 1 poached egg & 100g of chopped tomatoes which adds up to 92 cals at 7:30am I then don't eat anything until my evening meal at 7pm. I drink black coffee & sparkling water during the day.

After Mondays fast I had a sneaky weigh in and I have now lost just over 3kg. It really is worth just keeping the faith and give this woe a chance. I don't know if it is against the rules but on Thursday I took a calypso jubbly ice lolly (16cals) to work so when everyone was eating their lunch I could nibble on that and not feel deprived.
Good luck!
