Help!!

I was at a dinner party last night and pigged out! I did keep off the nibbles and had pre meal gin and slim line tonic but then went down hill!! Only had 1 small potato with healthy main course, lovely yummy choccy/date pud with loads of strawberries, then .....loads of cheese.... I told myself before to keep off the cheese..... But several wines down the line.... Oh heck, have I undone all the good over the last 3 weeks?

Guess what.....I'm fasting today......and definitely not going near any scales....!!!!

It was a brill night and I was quite pleased with how my willpower held up......much better and for longer than normal, but when it went walkabout I was back to my old ways!!!

Don't worry about it too much - it was only the other night - back on a couple of fast days and you'll be fine. Remember this does have to fit in with our lives and with some juggling around you can make it do that. Then if there's the occasional (but it must be occasional  ) blip, then what the heck. I caved in to a donut on a fast day last week  - I've been doing this WOL for 6 months and that's the first time it's happened. I figure if that happens every 6 months or so, well so what. Life has still got to be enjoyed hasn't it. In future stay away from the cheese board and I'll stay clear of donuts (well most of the time anyway) Good luck Grannyl

Yep, relax, it takes time to "get" what "normal" eating actually is. Glad you had a good night x

Remember this is a no guilt WOE, so you had a brill night ... Great! Just don't do it too often & get back to 5:2 WOL today. It's called eating normally, what our thin friends do naturally & we're all learning to do.

Thanks for the support everyone. You're on Suchard007, we'll give it a go! You did really well lasting out for 6 months.......it only took me 6 minutes to give in! :frown:

Just had 2 cups of Green Tea with lemon and ginger so far, feel far too full still for anything else so hope to get back on track......have to as going on hols in weeks time!

It really helps having all the feedback especially as hubby's not doing it with me, although he's very good and will eat the 'naughties' out of sight!

That's why I am doing this diet - so I can have fun.
On non fast days I don't count calories, I just eat - and enjoy.
I don't know how much I weigh, but I have lost inches, and still going.
If you can't enjoy your food, what is the point of this diet?

Just swap around the calorie restricted days so that you avoid any social events. This is the beauty of 5:2: it's pretty flexible to fit around life. I've never missed two CR days per week since august despite obvious birthdays, christmas, holidays etc.

I like this WOE specifically because I can eat without worrying too much about what it is I am eating. I get to chose the things I desire and not the least calorific, that way I am more satisfied in the end and eat less than I did when trying to avoid the foods I desire. :) The fasting will put you right and i am sure you didn't do too much damage anyway. :)

Good for you, I'm glad you had a good evening! Whenever I go to dinner or out to dinner I do the same. You will be fine if you stick to your fast days and don't indulge EVERY other night of the week. Good luck!

I went a bit mad this weekend and found, to my horror, that I'd put on about 3 1bs this morning! Don't quite understand how that happened, as I don't exactly starve myself at weekends and I always stay the same weight. Only thing I can think of is that I did eat rather a lot of cheese (my son and daughter in law came up and I'm afraid I ate what was left of the food I'd got in for them after they went home)! Anyway, I'm now seriously considering doing 4.3 this week!
