Delighted or Disappointed?

I've just put my 1st months data into my progess tracker and it looks like I've gone up. I haven't, I must have used a dodgy conversion tool for my initial data. I started at 98.4kg and am now 97.7 which is still a bit pathetic but even so I wish the progress tracker showed the difference in the right direction.

I'm trying not to get to upset. I used different scales this weigh in but will be using these ones from now on so next month should be a better representation.
Can I recommend a couple of things? One is to look through the threads about no/slow weight loss. There will be a lot of good info there. Two is to also measure you waist at least, and other areas if you wish. A lot of people see these go down even when the weight isn't. In terms of your health this is probably the more important number.

Finally, scales can vary a lot. I'll bet even some doctors offices don't calibrate as often as recommended. It's possible that you have lost weight and it was masked by uncalibrated scales.

Hang in there!
I agree with MaryAnn, measure your waist and anyway, you have lost weight, have you not? A lot of people, myself included, get off to a depressingly slow start and suddenly things start moving so, PLEASE DO NOT GIVE UP! Keep posting, there is lots of help and advice on here so make use of it.

Good luck, you will get there, honestly,

But, you've lost 0.7 kg?
Thanks all of you. Unfortunately my waist meaasurement has stayed the same as well. I don't know how I managed to mess up inputting my initial data but never mind too late now.

I'll give it another month and make sure I'm keeping an eye on my feed day intake as well. Tomorrow is my next fast day, I'm guessing the disappointment wont make it any easier but I'll power through.
Good girl, we are all behind you :victory:

Hallo Phoenix77 , I did the same as you and input the wrong data - perhaps you could do like I did and contact Moogie (forum admin) as she offers to either put in the correct figures or for me who had made quite a few mistakes ( I hadn't realised that old age had made me shrink one and a half inches in height) she reset the progress tracker so I could start afresh. She is very helpful and it will make you feel better. Good luck,
I have also not lost much weight, but my clothes are looser - sometimes our body doesn't cooperate at first and it is in a set point mode. As we age losing weight becomes harder which is a bummer, so tomorrow going to the gym and on the treadmill for longer to change things up a bit.

However, this program is not all about weight, it is also how this impacts our over all health. I am also watching my fast days more closely and work on eating more protein and veggies on the other days per week - cutting the carbs for the next month and see what happens.
This is why I don't weigh! Also focus on the other benefits of this WOE not just the weight loss potential.
Hi Phoenix,
I agree with cmce. I stuffed up my initial data and felt that it was too important to leave so I emailed the beautiful Moogie and she happily corrected it.
Cheers,
Julianna.
The fabulous Moogie fixed it for me. I now show as having lost a whole one and a half pounds. But it is one and a half pounds in the right direction and today's fast is going well. it's all fruit so far and I'm about to go and make fish and a massive salad for dinner.
Hi phoenix77 - take other measurements too.... my waist is only decreasing very slowly. This month for example I've lost 2.2kg a measly .5 cm on my waist (you'll see from my tracker that it's been the same measurements for ages and ages) - but I've lost 1.5cm off my thighs and 2.5cm off my hips since the April weigh in. So I'd suggest taking measurements of hips and thighs as well as waist. Keep at it - it's not a quick fix but if you follow it the weight will come off slowly and surely, without the need to deprive yourself of anything either. Good luck, keep us informed of how it's all going :clover:
Hi there, my first post and I am feeling just like phoenix77. Now in my fifth week and have only lost 2 lbs for what seems like a huge effort. Unlike Michael and Mimi, I struggle on my fast days. I am fine until mid afternoon but then my mood dives and I feel really ratty and tearful. Not sure this is worth it and the effect on my family too.
Hi, I am sure you will be ok, I am no expert but it sounds like the carb / insulin thing to me. You can feel like that when your body is craving sugar. If you can detox the sugar and cut down on refined and high GI foods it will make you feel better and fast days will be easier. As Suchard007 said go by measurements and how your clothes feel. I follow a full fat, low sugar natural way of eating and its the best move I ever made, When I started 5:2 I didn't have any side effects, it was a natural progression for me. :clover:
