Delighted or Disappointed?

I don't have much to lose now (6lbs) and today was going really well - had a little bowl of porridge for breakfast, banana and a few almonds mid morning, chicken and mushroom risotto for lunch (didn't have it til nearly 2pm as I wasn't hungry). Then come this evening for some reason I've ended up scoffing cookies AND malteaster bunnies AND crisps and I feel right royally ICK!!!

It was the sort of mindless eating I used to do and I feel pretty disappointed in myself to be honest, and just when I thought I'd turned a corner!

But more than anything else my body is clearly HATING all I've foisted on it! My tummy is all bloated and achey and I feel a bit sick

I suppose that in itself is a good lesson and a reminder what this sort of rubbish does to me. My body's really begun to enjoy fasting I think, which is making me contemplate a bonus fast tomorrow (hubby was going to anyway as he's got more weight to lose than me) to try and purge myself of it all!

Just wondering if anyone else has had any blips or revelations like this on their 5:2 journey?
I was doing well today - poached eggs for breakfast and then soup for lunch but then attacked a packet of Jaffa cakes this afternoon and just had pizza and garlic bread - far too much off it - and feel very bloated now.

I really do think that after a couple of fasts you do get used to eating less and need less to feel full.

On a good note I have avoided any alcohol this evening which for a Friday night is very good. :D

Off for another glass of fizzy water I think!! :P
Well, kind of!

Last Saturday (the day after my fast) we had friends round for dinner and they brought a yummy chocolate cheesecake for dessert. We had quite a lot of wine too. I noticed that on the next couple of days all the appetite reduction I usually get after a fast and which lasts a couple of days had completely vanished. I felt much keener on having sweet things than I had been.

It seems that a burst of sugar (or perhaps just overeating) triggers the old eating habits again...

I'm going to my niece's birthday lunch tomorrow and have made her an incredibly rich chocolate mousse cake...I will have to try hard to eat only a tiny bit!
Well, I've had a totally naughty day today.

It started off with a donut for breakfast/elevenses and went downhill after that! Someone brought some uneaten sandwiches out of one of the meeting rooms at lunchtime, so I had to have a few of those (the little triangle quarter-sandwich ones), and then I had a dark chocolate bounty, and this evening I've sat and stuffed my face with half a KFC bargain bucket and most of a bottle of wine!!

Oh well, I'm calling it a relapse!!
Thanks for your replies :)
I've decided I'm not going to fast today. It was a total knee-jerk reaction to 'poisoning' myself with rubbish yesterday, but I've woken up this morning feeling okay and am just going to eat more wisely today.

I was thinking to myself that long-term these relapses might happen, but so long as I still have my fast days it'll all even out over the week. Plus if I do have relapses and they make me feel as grotty as I did yesterday, I might be less inclined to reach for the crisps and chocolate in future!
