Waaaahhh wail :curse: none of my clothes fit! They are all too baggy and M&S have stopped selling the jeans I love! I even tried on jeans in H&M and they didn't fit..probably because a 56 yr old woman isn't the same shape as a teenager lol! Aaaaarrghhhh!!!!
I am on the hunt for high waist stretch, preferably black jeans. Help!!!! x

M and Co. £25 straight or boot. In black and traditional dark blue. Love mine immensely. There's not many of these on the high street, but they do have a website. Have you tried Dorothy Perkins and new look. Or are they too "skinny" I know some ladies hate skinny jeans. And dare I say Primark, all my daughters jeans come from there, £8 and very soft. Good luck

Well, Matalan worked for me as I didn't want to spend much due to shrinking out of them fairly quickly. They are high waisted and with stretch, but if course not brilliantly made for the price £14 for black, £10 for blue.

I thought M&S did different shapes jeans for different body shapes (e.g. Marilyn for curvy shape) but they don't have them in our local store. Could try online though?

It's a nice problem to have!

drilakila, I know what you mean. You should see the stacks of trousers I'm taking to my sister's for Xmas (she has a Good Will nearby, and there really is no point in leaving my old size clothes in Japan!). I'm trying to get away with wearing skirts that are too big. They ride down a bit, but I don't tuck shirts in usually, so I think it looks ok (must find an honest friend to answer that one, I think). I need to go through my dresses next. I'm more attached to those, so I may get some altered.

I bought some lovely boot leg jeans at M&S at the end of the summer. They still fit well. I bought one pair in short length for flip flops and flats and one pair in regular to wear with boots, wedges, etc. They're dark blue and fit my pear/hour glass shape really well.

Ok my jeans sister. These are at the other end of the range, but I wondered if you were thinking of giving yourself a Christmas present given your fabulous achievements? I bought a pair of these last week to reward myself for my progress so far. They literally suck you in, make you look a whole size smaller. I'm sorry they are expensive, but they are built for women of our age and there is a sale on at the moment and they are probably the only pair I will buy this year. The ones to get are the jeggings. No - not like the nasty ones you see around, these are hi-tech and have the narrowest leg and fit just under the waist so no muffin top. Yes they do black. And best of all, I bought a US size 2. The skinny leg jean was was too wide at the bottom for me.

Hi Karen

I was only looking at these last week myself on the web !

I struggle like hell with fixed waistbands but with my ever changing shape at the mo, I haven't found any that are shapely(well to my weird shape that is !) with elasticated waist.

I cannot stand anything digging in on the waist. Been like that all my life. So only ever owned one pair of jeans in my life.

These jeans are on my list to try in the spring when I am a bit more stable size wise.

I can however get away with leggings currently as they make me look smaller pverall(small hips)

I had a look at you suggestions. Thank you for taking the time to do that.
Below are links (I hope) to the jeans I really want. They are american and try as I might I do not understand what size I need! I tried emailing the company but they didn't seem to understand I don't know what size I am.
So as some of you live across ther pond or can understand american sizing please help me and suggest a size for me if you don't mind.
My waist is 83cms and hips 103cms. the last pair of lovely wranglers I had were a 34" waist but they fell off me months ago lol.

I know it's a nice problem to have in a way but I am fast running out of jeans to wear as I can't find alternatives I like or can fit into given my shape and using them for riding.
Thanks to you all for the help xxxx

Sounds like a US size 8 to me (UK12). If you are a UK10 though, then its a 6. If you told them that, will that help as I have no idea how they are sizing these either

When you measure yourself to determine clothes size, you should pull the tape measure to the tightness you want your clothes to fit...

I spent far too much time looking for jeans online today! But having scoured eBay I found a great seller who has been very helpful. She/he suggested I measure my favourite pair of jeans and see what size they are. He/she also had a really good chart on their page explaining the sizes. Amazing how suddenly it all becomes clear!

Size Waist Hips Rise
26W 44" 48" 13"
24W 42" 46" 12 1/4"
22W 41" 44" 12"
19/10 38" 41" 11 1/2"
17/18 37" 40" 11"
15/16 36" 39" 10 1/2"
13/14 34" 37" 10"
11/12 33" 36" 10"
9/10 32" 35" 9 1/2"
7/8 31" 34" 9 1/2"
5/6 30" 33" 9 1/4"
3/4 29" 31" 9"
1/2 28" 30" 8 1/2"
0 27" 29" 8 1/4"

Are they really low rise jeans? The difference between the waist and hips is far too little for my shape!
