Weight loss after 6 weeks
15 Nov 2013, 09:44
Hi everyone

It is the morning after my 12 fast so end of Week 6 for me. I've lost 2kg(4.4lbs) so far and would ideally like to lose another 8.2kg (18lbs) to take me to my target weight of 55.4(8st 10lbs). My weight loss is steady and I seem to be settling in to a loss of about 0.1kg per week which I feel is awfully low but my body shape is visibly changing. I know that you are advised to weigh and measure but I can feel my clothes fitting better and see it in the mirror. Here is my week by week weight loss.

Starting weight - 65.6
Week 1 - 64.3
Week 2 - 63.8
Week 3 - 63.8
Week 4 - 63.7
Week 5 - 64.2 (totm)
Week 6 - 63.6

I just wanted to ask if you think that my body has settled into this 0.1kg loss pattern now or if I am perhaps likely to lose more some weeks than others going forward?

Any thoughts or help would be brilliant. I know that 'slow and steady wins the race' and in a way I am happy with that... It took long enough to gain the weight!!!

Thanks :-)

Hi teenydeenie and congrats on your progress so far!

I think that because you are already at a healthy BMI, your weightloss will be slow. To get a peek into the future, why not try the weightloss prediction calculator described here: resources-links-f3/estimate-your-weight-loss-t8543.html

But, yes, it is unlikely that you will follow a really steady pattern. Expect plateaus and sudden drops!

Thanks Caroline! I will take a look at the calculator and see what it forecasts... I guess I'm happy enough as the scales are either staying the same or going down very slightly so definitely the right direction. Plus I feel more awake and the bloated, sluggish way I used to feel has gone. Plus my muffin top is shrinking!!! Just wanted to ask some advice on whether I this would now be my weight loss pattern going forward. Thanks again :-D

Our bodies work in mysterious way... (and in my case, my mind !) :geek:

They can suddenly throw in extra weight loss, slight gain, change in shape without any hesitation!

So I would say no, you will hopefully experience lots of positive changes whilst the body adapts.

There is nothing wrong with slow & steady (plus a few hiccups), the end result is to change the way we all eat and be happy with our new shapes and health benefits :like:

I suspect this will be your average loss, but there will probably be times when you don't lose any, or worse, gain weight inexplicably, but also glorious occasions when your weight drops more than you'd expect!
For me it has been sustainable, so the small weekly amount has added up to 25 pounds, which to me is a huge amount!
Good luck! :clover:
