Glenda, if you are a daily weigher, you may like to check out one of the trending apps like Libra. There are others too. You chart your weight and it gives you a trend line and sort of irons out fluctuations. Might be helpful.
Also, do you measure yourself? The tape measure can be very friendly. I suggest measuring and recording everywhere, doing it in millimetres and then adding it up. YOu get really big happy numbers! :D

Ah yes, the wine can add quite a few calories - empty ones at that. I'm not a big drinker and these days 2 small glasses is my limit before I feel a bit rough the next day! I only tend to drink once a week at most though.

I know... I have quite a high tolerance for the stuff without hangover, but I have to face up to the fact that I can't do it any more if I want to be slim again!

Thanks for the Libra tip, Janeg

I can't seem to find Libra in the iPhone app store? At least, not a trending app called Libra.

Libra is for android phones, trueweight is for iphones.

Think in terms of 1lb a week, with a 5lb loss you are suddenly 4 weeks ahead, so although you've gone up you haven't regained all weight, but maintained a loss, if you are a daily weigher (as I am) get an app on your phone to track and then you can see the downwards trend happening rather than focusing on the ups and downs which will definitely happen! If you are still a lb down then you are still on track for the week! Hope that makes sense :0)

Hello again! Well, I am pleased to report I stuck at it, kept an eye on feast day calories using MyFitnessPal and I'm now 11 fast days in... and 8lb down! Delighted.

Sounds like you're doing brilliantly. Glad you stuck with it, and reported back. Just the type of inspiration I need on my fast day to stick with it.

Thanks! I am genuinely enjoying it now. I have settled into a nice routine of foods I know will get me through a fast day feeling satisfied. Eggs feature heavily and I go pretty low-carb.

Do you mind if I ask if you can see my progress chart? I can't see the link to mine when I post, and I wondered if it was showing up for other people.
Edit: Sorted it out now!

Well done Glenda, I'm glad you've found a way to make this work for you.
I've just looked and I can see the lovely lilac line sliding down on your Progress Tracker

Oh, thank you everyone. Still early days but I am so excited about this way of life. It seems genuinely sustainable!

12lb down now! I think I lost the first lot of weight quickly as it was mainly water, then appeared to stall as my body caught up and lost actual fat. Frustratingly close to being in a new stone divide and I never want to see the 13s again!
