Getting Sweaty! Exercise & Fitness

3 posts Page 1 of 1
I've heard, without studying the issue, that getting protein in shortly after a workout is necessary to prevent muscle wasting and/or increase muscle bulk. Some reports, both at a body building site and here (endurance)
http://impruvism.com/recovery-window/ suggest that it is not that important to feed (particularly protein) after a workout.
What are your thoughts?
Interesting article, thanks.

Had only recently started worrying about post-exercise nutrition, might have to stop again...
I've always doubted there's some kind of "magic window" where you should eat after working out. If so, working out should increase appetite, instead of decreasing it as in my case. It's possible it has something to do with how adapted you are to fat burning.

I've always suspected it's a more of a great way to sell those weird protein powder kegs and power bars. Anyway, I'm just working out the way I find pleasant or endurable, and wouldn't worry too much about getting quick results. I'd be happy to be proved wrong though.
