Fitbit Chat for Week of Sep 22

Greetings everyone!

Even though I had a less than stellar week last week both from a 5:2 and step perspective I did pass a milestone. I have now walked over 2 million steps since April. Holy cow, that seems like a lot.

Welcome to our few new members, hope you find your fitbit as motivating as some of the rest of us.

Wishing everyone a successful 5:2/4:3/16:8/ADF/6:1 week filled with lots of steps!
And I was happy with 11000 on Saturday. Well done on your achievement.
2 Million steps is amazing.
I had a good weekend with 24.7k steps on Sat and 27.7k yesterday.
It's 5:50 am in NY and I'm getting ready for my morning workout
Great going everyone :) Two million steps is amazing! I haven't looked at my overall total. After my record thirty thousand last wee, I've started this one completing all my goals and I'm happy about that.

We head off to Thailand in just over two weeks for a short break and I'm busy planning that now. Hopefully I will be able to keep up some sort of fasting when I am there and my steps. Today was not good on the scales, but it's four days till official weigh in day and I plan to fast today and Wednesday before then.

I've climbed two flights of stairs so far. Only 48 more to!
Happy stepping this week everyone. My average cal expend is 2700 cals, one day 3k. Very happy with that. But Does anyone know how the active score is worked out, as I was 5th on the leader board, but ranked 11th overall?
Carrie,
The Active Score is the source of much head scratching on the Fitbit forums - I found this explanation - hope it helps -
The Active Score is a rough translation of your average METs for the day (METs = Active Score x .001 + 1). "MET means "metabolic equivalent." It's a unit of energy used to compare the energy expended during various activities. Unlike calories, it's independent of a person's size
Another interesting note on the Active score. Someone with fewer steps each day often has a higher active score. The more active "throughout" the day you are the higher your score...literally just reducing the periods of time of "inactivity" raises your active score...even if it is short trips to the restroom.
I just got a fitbit and can't believe some of you can walk so many steps in one day! Way to go! For me 17,000 is really good. Way to go!
Congrats Alison 17,000 is great. Are you going to join our group and get super motivated? If you'd like to, send me or one of the others on this page a pm and we'll send you an invite.

Not sure I understand the active minutes myself either. At the moment mine seems equal to all my other stuff, but some days they seem out of sync. I will try and pay more attention now.

Have a good day everyone :)
Eeeek! I've lost Fitbit's wriststrap...
I took the strap on holiday, but decided not to use it, as couldn't download and wanted the memory to hold step data more than sleep data, and now I'm home can't find it.
The wierd thing is I didn't unpack it while away, and now that I've unpacked everything, it's nowhere to be found! :?:
Soon I shall resort to making one!

On holiday we did a walk where we did 73 floors. I thought the next badge up from 25 floors was 100 (why??), but I see now there is a 75 floor badge. I would have crawled up 2 more floors if only I'd realised!
@Annurca did you check every piece of clothing? The velcro on the strap can make it cling and it might be stuck on the outside or inside of something it was packed with.
Good thought Betsygr8!
I'll try that tonight.
Annurca. I hope you'll find it. Alison, welcome. Just wanted to tell you all about my positive experience with the fitbit customer service. I have my One for about 3 months and a few day ago the silicon tip of the clip fell and I lost it so now The metallic tip is exposed and is poking me. Last night I sent an email to costumer service. They replied after several hours and the replacement clip was already shipped to me today
That's great Einatlb. Ive also had bery good experiences with customer services too. I lost my wrist strap while packing up from the UK and they sent me another one.My friend who inherited my fitbit zip lost hers after a couple of weeks and they said they would send out a replacment.

Any luck Annurca? Have you tried to contact customer services?

I made almost all of my targets yesterday except the floors. My goal today is to make all of them.

How is everyone else doing today?
Going for a walk soon to get additional 5k steps and then I'll be happy  it is gorgeous outside.
