Interval training.
24 Jun 2014, 08:45
Hi

Braving the new system.....

I started IT a month or so ago and hurt my feet; the heels specifically.

It's taking an age to go down. There is an area immediately behind the ankle bone which is noticeably sensitive to the touch. I'm using Ibuprofen gel on it usually every morning.

The trouble is it's affecting my back, too, at times.

Any suggestions?

(I don't really want to go to the Doctor over it think they seen enough of me)

Ouch! Is the interval training in running?
I'm not a runner but have been told that gait analysis can really help.
If it's not from running,...em, rest, ice, compression and elevation?
Sports physio?
or , dare I say it...doctor?
Sorry not much help.

Doesn't sound good. I would definitely get it checked out and leave the exercise until the pain goes or you may do more damage. Hope it heals soon

Yeah it can be bit "ouch".

I started interval training and maybe a bit too much too soon.

I'd have thought it would be sorted by now......

Try gentle toe hang stretches off a stair step while holding onto the railing. Both feet at first, then one at a time.

Another stretch that works calf muscles to arches, although more difficult to do as we get older, is working up to a full squat from standing to flat feet - with heels on the ground at the bottom.
