Just did a step class while on my fast day! I thought I was going to be full of energy, but I'm knackered! I'm sitting on my sofa, should be having my 500 calorie meal, but haven't got the energy! I wonder if I should have eaten something before I went? I've been doing the 5:2 for 2 weeks and I've not been too bad, but this week I exercised and my energy levels seems to have gone down

Eat something small now, wee bit of cheese or a few nuts, get you going so that you can eat properly.
It's early days. Hang in there.

Thank you for the advice, I've eaten now and feel better. I wanted to eat more, but I'm really trying hard cos I know I can eat tomorrow? Should I not be exercising in fast days.
Some people say that they feel fine during their fast days, personally I find it hard to do the dishes. If you feel the same way, perhaps you should leave exercise for non-fasting days.
Yep, you can but you have to take it easy until you're more used to burning fat as fuel. You might have little wobbles. I would listen to your body, not your mind.
The key is not to fall totally off the wagon. When I say eat nuts, I mean something like 6, not a jumbo bag of peanuts! It seems to work for me and now I don't need to snack or anything, much more control.
I had a harder time up to 10 weeks and now as you can see in the avatar I can exercise on a fast day no problem. Before, if I felt weak or headachey, I went had a lie-down so I'm no hero!

Thanks for that. I thought it was just me, but you're right I need to listen to my body. Glad I stuck to my resolve not to eat. Another day of successful fasting. Hope it last
Depending on what you've got left allowance-wise, or if you feel so bad, to go over slightly - is have a small glass of milk. It's one of the best 'recovery' drinks out there and it's easy for your body to absorb quickly rather than having to digest the nuts.
