I don't do any real exercise but I do make an effort to be more active.
I work in 1 of the lower floors of a big office building and I always take the stairs. Also at random times in the day I take a jog up the stairs until I can feel my heart beating a bit faster.
Also if I'm having a quiet weekend then I make the effort to go for a walk.

More than 120 bpm heart rate for more than 20 minutes.
I do a bit of walking (school runs etc), and I also do 20 mins of HIIT 6 days a week.
I enjoy walking and fortunately live in Cyprus where the climate is good enough to go outside nearly every day of the year. When I lived in south Africa I joined a Run/Walk for Life class and learnt how to power walk properly and to monitor my pulse rate. By using two different lengths of stride over a 45 minute session I find I exercise most of my muscles and increase my heart rate, but that's as technical as it gets. I have tried going to a gym over the years, but prefer doing some exercises I found on the internet http://www.frostmagazine.com/2013/03/ma ... tter-body/. I exercise as and when I feel like it and for some reason always exercise on a fast day!
Walking is a great way to get some exercise
I am also on week 4 of C25K which I really enjoy as well!

I figure any activity where I start off cold (my home is 12 C regardless of the time of year) and end up warm by my own effort works. Since I started 5:2 2 weeks ago I've had at least 30 minutes of such activity every single day. Usually it's 30 minutes on the bicycle watching Netflix, but sometimes it's a jog or a walk (long, as in a couple of hours, if the pace is slow, short if the pace is quick).
I try and stay active and do a lot of different things. Walking the dogs keeps me moving, but it is not strenuous. I walk dogs 2.5 miles a day. I go to Yoga 4x week, and I ride my bike wherever I go, so maybe 6-10 miles/day on the bike. I sometimes lift free weights at home. The important thing is to move, move, move!

Very interesting answers.
You have reminded me to include that I don't sit all day, as I have an active job. As I get slimmer, exercise gets easier, so I do a bit more.
We want to get the bikes out very soon - watch out!

Whatever. If it was a boast I would at least go for a couple of hours at a high intensity like 150 BPM.
Good God man, behave yourself !! At least you're not microwave man, 2 mins on high power!

Thanks for that link to Mark Anthony! Those look like some good additions, esp. for the back.
I don't drive so walk or cycle pretty much everywhere - even the bus stop is 3/4 mile away. I take the dog out for about 4 miles every day (he does about 10!)and a trip to the nearest shop is a mile and a half round trip. I used to go to a gym but got fed up and bored with the poseurs and the incessant racket - also I'm too tight to pay for something I could do for free in the fresh air!
If you want to get your heat rate up try yomping up and down sand dunes with the wind and rain in your face!
