30 day shred

Hi all,

Been doing 5:2 for about 8 weeks with a 9lb loss so far plus 3 inches off waist, weight loss slowing down ( still have 12lb to go) so decided to start 30 day shred today.

Just done first day, was ok :grin:

Be good to know how combining this with 5:2 has impacted on weight loss - I need motivation to continue :wink:

HEllo Prawny, there is an active thread of shredders on the go which you might like to join in with. Well done for getting through the first day and on your success so far 5:2ing .

Julianna, the 30 Day Shred is a set of 3 exercise videos by Jillian Michaels (an American fitness trainer who was on the show "The Biggest Loser"). Each video is for a certain level (while none are "easy" per se, Level 1 is the "least hard") and each level's video is meant to be done for roughly 10 days before moving onto the next one. Each level lasts about 20 minutes and has 3 circuits of strength (3 minutes per circuit), cardio (2 minutes per circuit) and abs (1 minute per circuit), plus a minute each of warmup and cooldown. The exercises are pretty intense but doable, and for most exercises there is someone demonstrating a "modified" version with a little less impact if your fitness level isn't up to doing the standard version.

Totally recommend joining our "shred thread" if you have more questions or want to crow about your triumphs or moan about how sore you are (it does get better :-)).

I love Shred! Not doing it at the moment since breaking my lounge floor with it (I kid you not) and in my first week of 5:2 so not sure I have the energy until I settle into it a bit. Enjoy!
