Slim in 6 DVDs
08 Jun 2013, 13:46
Hello All,

I saw a TV advert this morning on SKY for a set of DVDs called Slim in 6. They looked very interesting.

I am not exercise freak  but I do like to play Wii Zumba....
I find it hard to find the time to exercise every day but I think I would be motivated if I saw results like they were claiming to achieve!!

I was wondering if anyone has used these DVDs and if so, are they worth the money?

I currently do 4:3 (5:2 on weeks where life gets in the way) and would carry on with the WOE as it is too easy to drop.....I was just wondering if the Slim in 6 might bring some speedier results.....any opinions welcome. Thank you.

Kelly

Hi Kelly
I got the Slim in 6 DVDs off ebay a couple of months ago. I'm not a big exercise freak either, just happy with basic aerobics but I also wanted some toning.

I haven't been following the 6 week programme but I like the first round of exercises which is about 30 mins. I've done the 2nd round a few times which is more challenging, but I miss a few bits out (can't do push ups and hate the plank). It also has some yoga moves in the cool down section, but I'm quite inflexible and find some of them hard. I didn't really enjoy the 3rd round, but maybe I'm just a wimp with not enough dedication!

The bonus workouts are good - 15 mins abdominals, 15 mins thighs & butt, 30 mins cardio core. These are all on the first disc and are mainly at a basic level but still effective.

If you did it everyday it would certainly help with fitness and overall toning. You get sweaty but there's not much actual cardio (ie little jumping around). I like that you don't have to learn a routine, because I always forget those. If you think you'd like to follow the 6 week programme then go ahead, otherwise it's a bit expensive to buy new.

Personally I do the exercises because I think it helps boost my metabolism a bit, but I don't think it burns a lot of calories.

If you like dance type aerobics, there are lots of videos by Exercise TV or which you can watch for free on Youtube.

Hi Silverbelle

Thank you so much for your detailed feedback. I think I would be like you and dip in and out of the DVDs. I don't trust myself enough to do it every day. I already love Zumba but I don't find the time to do it every day.

I will take a look at You Tube. I hadn't thought of that. Top tip! Thank you very much x

I was tempted by those TV adverts as well, but instead I've been following a Fitness Blender 2 month programme, after someone here posted a link. The videos on their site are free, and I got the e-book with the detailed programme for £4.50. It's pretty hard going at times but I'm losing inches quickly and my cardio has greatly improved. Different videos each day as well to keep it interesting. http://www.fitnessblender.com

I use davina intense. It is a short cardio on the basis of hiit. There is also a great tum session which I can really feel, but again is not long, so it doesnt get me down!
My sis uses the mel b total body, but i found that way too much. Unless you are quite fit i wouldnt recommend that one.

Hope this helps
