Wobbly bum exercises

Saw this and thought it was rather good.
For fellow shredders, nothing really new except the side raising ones- they hurt! :curse:

The link is working fine. It's my body that would have difficulty with any of these exercises!

Gosh, half of those exercises would kill me LOL but hats off to those who can do them. I find squats etc a bit too high-impact for my joints.

I actually do Callanetics for much of my body toning, does anyone else do them? Bit of an 80s throwback - I remember when the videos first came out and I used to do them with my mum!

Anyway I heartily recommend it for any members who struggle with higher-impact movements. It's fairly safe for various health conditions (such as back problems) so long as you listen to your body and never force it to do anything that feels uncomfortable. And there are lots of modifications for back problems, or if you are elderly etc. Or you can abbreviate the workouts once you've got the basic moves under your belt. It's an oldie but a goodie! (and a bit of a killer! - but not in a frenetic way, the movements are slow and gentle but you really feel it the day after).

Even though I'm still well-padded with body fat, there's definitely some good muscle tone under there. I've been doing it at least once a week during my whole weight-loss journey, so that's over a year now. I just do as much as I can even if I'm having a 'crash' day with my illness. Sometimes I have to hold onto my bed for support. Other times I even do half the exercises ON my bed LOL.

I found one of the books in a second-hand shop, but I've owned the video before so already knew what I was doing pretty much. Amazon has the dvds and books I think if anyone's interested.

Sorry - I sound a bit like an advert. It has really worked for me though :)And I hope I haven't hijacked the thread too much - just wanted to offer a gentle alternative :bashful:

DHANA!!!!!*shouts up the road*
Dhana does the arm exercises and I have been known to dabble with Callan! I think it's on you tube...
very effective - I did it fairly regularly -every second day with something like Tae Bo or Davina on the other days and knew there was muscle and toning- it was hiding under the blubber. Lost some of that now and have some definition, though I'm shredding and rowing now. Might add it back in as I'm going on holiday diving and rigorous exercise is contra indicated in repetitive diving...
got me thinking again- has to be dangerous!

LOL! How funny! I did wonder if any people here did it. It's definitely good stuff. I alternate it with a bit of yoga and my pathetic rebounder bouncing for cardio (and when I say 'bounce', my feet aren't really leaving the mat at all)- Callan rocks! - EDIT: Or, rather, "pulses gently"

HULLOTHER JANEG!! How's it gawin'? Yep, I heard you! Callanetics are definitely the bee's knees! Tone up without breaking a sweat - but they are effective and NOT easy peasy. If you want a cardio workout these are not the ones for you, but if you want to pull in the saggy tum super quick, these work! The movements are loosely based on ballet and pilates, the late Callan Pinckney was in leg brace for years as a child, and had severe back problems. I love the stretch I get from them and feel straighter and taller when I do them
