Getting Sweaty! Exercise & Fitness

3 posts Page 1 of 1
I do martial arts 2 days consecutively, 90min to 2.5hr pretty intensely (just try falling down and getting up from a few hours!) I often fast on one of those days without issue, but now I'm wondering if I should fast the day AFTER my 2 days of MA.

On one hand, wouldn't that put me into repair mode? OTOH, don't I need a bit of extra protein and energy to restock? I definitely can feel the soreness...just about everywhere. LOL

Thoughts?
I am keen to eat immediately after exercise now, I did do the other thing when I first started and I suspect I lost some muscle mass in the process.

Nowadays I am maintaining by walking or biking in the morning then starting to eat normally on my return - I don't need to restrict calories and I do tend to carbo-load before Saturday's parkrun - this means I still get a couple of days where I have to wait for food & get hungry.
I fast training days & eat plenty day after. If particularly hard session, I have some milk after training.

I'm still pretty fat so not taking protein or anything.
