Morning guys - I'm in for this again today - though I have got a family member staying overnight tonight so I shall be cooking for him only and treating myself to some homemade cauliflower soup. Better not cook anything too scrummy or I shall want to join in with him!! Good luck everyone. (PS Is it my imagination or are there less people doing 36hr LOF these days... there seemed to be a whole string of us initially... but dwindled off a bit I feel ??)
The forum is quite today. Anyone else joining me today? I did a food shop in Morrisons yesterday. I've only ever popped in there to get bits I needed, so to have a bit of time to go round the whole shop was great - what a lovely shop. They had fruit and veg I had never heard of, even fresh turmeric. We have a large Polish community up here and I noticed there was a Polish section. Anyway I came home with lots of goodies, so I'll have to avoid the kitchen today!
Morning Missus - yes I'm joining you too. Seems we were both making a thread at the same time... Great Minds....and all that. Maybe you'd be kind enough to combine them into one?? I'm too daft to be able to do something as clever as that  , but I bet you know how!
@wildmissus are you able to combine our two threads please - seems we both started one at the same time! I'm joining you today - I actually look forward to Monday's fast - a nice cleanser after what is usually a good weekend!!
Morning ,
I'm joining you today, doing a LOF, if anything I started out by having food on my fast days but the choice of bad food is still there ( within the calories) , so I decided to do LOF and it's so much easier you don't have to think about food, the only issue I have my fast days alway seem to fall on a gym night and I get a bit weiry as the one time I did LOF I almost fainted at the end of gym work, so I have a low cal energy drink 50 cals before I go then have one too while I'm there, but last time I did it I worked off 840 cals so I thought that was ok,
Good luck to all that are fasting today
Smudge :like: :clover:
ok I'm back in after a really bad week last week with marathon celebrations etc. I'm very full but not looking forward to my 2 liquid fasts. I'm beginning to wonder for my mental health is better to do 4:3 (of 500 cals) and not liquid fasts as I hate them so much or is that the very sign of my unhealthy relationship with food.
I started last night with good intentions - no pud after dinner, which meant I ate last at 7.00pm, aiming for a <150 cal fast.

However, best laid plans and all that, friend rang up this morning, "Fancy a walk to the pub this lunch-time?"

So I'll just fast until lunch, which will give me a good 18 hour fast - then I'll try again on Wednesday! :)
Well hi everyone. I accidentally just did a liquid fast. I only has 2 teas this morning then planned to have my chicken vege soup for dinner but a job for next year fell in my lap and I wasn't sure how I feel about it so was too confused to eat. Going to bed now.

I'm here as usual on a Monday, the day is almost done now and I'm looking forward to my porridge tomorrow morning...

Jmousey, if you dislike liquid fasting so much, why do you insist on doing it? Surely the whole point of 5:2 is making it as easy for yourself as possible. Find what suits you and your lifestyle the best and go with that.
I am up for a liquid only day today as I had such a heavy weekend, great fun though. :dazed: :victory:  The thought of eating nothing is bliss, wow, who would have believed you could feel that way. I am lunching with friends tomorrow before going to see the film 'Philomena' which I am looking forward to so a system rest seems like a good idea. Hope you all have a great day,

Hi @Jmousey, I agree with AirR, why are you torturing yourself this way? The whole point of this is to free yourself from angst and stress so I'd seriously look at another way to do it. Hatred of counting calories, EVER, was what made me do 16/8 for maintenance as once I'd lost the weight I just knew I could not sustain calories counting for the rest of my life even for 1 day a week. I hope you find a way that suits you better and works, good luck

Abracadabra, the two topics are now as one! :D

jmousey - if you hate liquid fasts, please don't do them! It won't do you any good in the long run if you're doing something you hate. Yes, maybe try 4:3 or perhaps see how big a meal you can get away with for 300 calories on your 5:2 days if you're trying to cut back. You can still have loads of veg and some meat for that!
Hi guys - thanks for the support. I have actually decided to go with your advice. I'm going to do 4:3 instead as I was definitely happier on it but I might do 1 liquid fast on a monday but not necessarily zero calorie :-) Life is too short to miserable
Well I'm trying a liquid fast today. Haven't managed 1 in a couple of weeks and had a week of the munchies :curse: last week so have to get back on track! Am thinking if I start talking on the forum again instead of just reading it may help my "staying power" for the liquid fasts because I do really enjoy them! Just get diverted by life at times. I love the morrisons veg bit to wildmissus , as a vegetarian it's very appealing!
I'm in today, my first of 2 liquid fasts. Had one hell of a weekend! Was worth it though  I enjoy the liquid fasts anyway, feels good to have a system reset!
