Fasting Monday 13th April
12 Apr 2015, 22:01
I'm fasting today and I've got the saddest heart. Last week my friend and business partner passed away suddenly , she was only 46. I will have to face a work place full of memories of her this morning. I can't begin to imagine how her family is facing a whole home full. Im at least glad she lived life to the full.
Sorry for such a downer this morning but it helps to write it down.

Oh @Wineoclock I am so sorry to hear that sad news and I am pleased that it helps to write it down. 46 is much too young to pass away. Be kind to yourself and enjoy the memories you have of her. I hope that the business will keep going as a tribute to your friend. :hugright:

How terribly sad Wineoclock. My sympathy for your loss. Be kind to yourself while you get through this difficult time.
I'm committing to a proper fast today. Been a bit slack lately. I have my daughters 21st in 6 weeks, and a cruise in 5 months so its time to get cracking!

So sorry to hear the sad news @wineoclock. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

I will be fasting tomorrow, it is still Sunday evening here and am having a hard time not bingeing. I've been good all day but since I've eaten supper I'm back at that place where I want to just eat and eat no matter that my stomach is full. I really want to push hard this week and lose the two pounds I wanted to lose in the past two weeks. I am finding it difficult to quiet the binge beast in my head. Any suggestions? I am looking forward to waking up tomorrow not having to worry about bingeing. Fast days are generally easier.

Take care of yourself @wineoclock Lots of hugs sent your way   and good luck to all today's and tomorrow's fasters. :clover:

So sorry to hear this @Wineoclock. So young. Hope the day goes ok for you. 'Suddenly', that's hard. I hope you had a chance to say goodbye, but you must feel she has been taken far too quickly.
I am fasting today, so soon after Saturday. I think I'm going to be able to do it. Fasting DODO isn't as hard as I imagined.
@stephd, sounds like a famine reaction. Be kind. Reassure your body that you are not going to starve.

Thanks everyone. @Sallyo it was a freak snorkeling accident, in fact due to the circumstances it was lucky that more people didn't die that day. Still hard to comprehend.

@sallyo what is a famine reaction? I've just had another cup of tea and my head is slowly catching up to my full belly. If I can just resist the pudding a little longer. Two hours to go until bed and two good tv shows to watch to keep me occupied. Actually watching tv can sometimes be hard because that is generally when I want to eat. I will be strong tonight, though! Thanks.

How awful and tragic @wineoclock. So sad.

That's so sad, wineoclock.

I'm in today, after another bad non-fast day yesterday. As always, it's the non-fast days that are my downfall. I really need to get them under control.

@stephd, a famine reaction is what happens when you have lost a lot of weight and it is an evolutionary effect which kicks in certain hormones and lets your body know that there might be a famine. In prehistoric and even historic times famines were regular occurrences. So you want to eat all the time, your body resists losing any more weight. Amanda Sainsbury-Salis, an Australian weight loss scientist writes about it a lot. It is the reason why you plateau in diets and often fall off them. She recommends not punishing yourself with strong minded denial because that will only convince your body that there really is a famine. You just have to ease off the diet a bit, eat when you are hungry and until you stop being hungry, accept the plateau for a while until it passes. She wrote the 'Don't go Hungry Diet' which you can look up and find out more.
So so sad, @Wineoclock. What a dreadful thing to happen.

I'm in today and , like @Sallyo feel it's very close to Saturday 's gast. And I've been 4:3ing for ages! So much mind trickery to this eating lark.
Instead of my usual poached eggs, I'll be having cauliflower cake left over. It is very yummy bnut I haven't worked out the calories. Going for it and hoping it's under 500.
Sad days @Wineoclock First time of doing anything after a death is always very hard. Thinking of you.

Sorry to hear @Wineoclock. I admire you for doing a fast today, as food would be my comfort in a situation like yours.
I'm fasting today as my scales showed 100 gram above my 'allowable range' (66.5-68.5kg). All self imposed but it's something I need as a stick as it's so tempting to postpone a fast now the weather is starting to cool down. Good luck fellow fasters!

I'm in today but happy to be here. @Wineoclock, I'm sorry to hear this, I'm 46. We must live our lives as fully as possible and so glad your friend did.
Back to school today, I've got treats from Florida for my mates. Good luck to everyone and especially to our newbie @Ted1968. See you all later.
