I am in for my usual Monday repair and boy do I need it. I have been eating sugar and white carbs for 4days on the trot. ( why do I do it to myself) I am aiming for 2fast and 5 16/8s this week to make up for my gluttony. good luck and willpower to all Monday fasters.

I'm in! Trying to lose a couple of pounds that have taken me over my target weight, which I reached in July. Two pounds wouldn't usually bother me (I allow myself a couple of pounds either side of my target weight) but these are part of a larger gain, so THEY HAVE TO GO! - especially with Christmas on the horizon! So, nothing except black tea for me until dinner this evening - then that will be another fast day sorted! :victory:

Good luck to all fasting today, especially any newbies. Remember - no-one ever died from feeling occasional hunger pangs for a few hours! Embrace them - I look on them as evidence that my body is burning fat!

Onwards and downwards! :clover:

I'm in :) Had a Jamie Oliver veg snack pack around lunch time (35 cals), and then having Quorn meatballs and whole wheat pasta with bolognese sauce tonight (324 cals). Also, I'm going to the gym for the first time ever on a fast day. I've read a few different opinions on doing this so thought I'd try it for myself :)

Hope you're all having a good day, almost done now :)

Yes I'm in today, but feeling a bit grumpy now and killing some time before husband comes home and we can have our SOUP! :like:

Looking forward to watching Masterchef the Professionals this evening. Doesn't make me hungry because as my OH says, it's "not like real food' - all those foams and things!

Here's wishing everyone a fine evening!

Hello fasters! Hope all my US friends had a lovely Thanksgiving. I was away all week stuffing my face, so it's back on track today.

Today is my first fast *at home* - a special struggle for me. Keeping busy and taking it one hour at a time! Think I'll do M/W fasts for the foreseeable future as that is when hubs is out. I need to have a solid Dec before the next round of holidays.

Ok off to catch up on the threads here to find and sustain my mojo... happy fasting!

Fasting today too! I need it so much after this weekend! Everything in this house looks good to eat! Glad to be getting out of it for more work tonight. I snuck on the scale this morning and though my official day to weigh is Friday...yikes! I did eat to my heart's content this weekend. I'm still hopeful. So far, this WOE is proving itself to me. I'm thrilled. We'll see what damage I can undo. :) Good luck everyone!

Marginally happier now that I've eaten but I just can't get warm this evening. Not had the fasting day chills this badly before.... :(

Can anyone chime in here? I am newly 5:2ing and had my second fast day yesterday (Monday here in Aus:)) It went much better than the first one where I had nasty headaches all day. Yesterday I didn't have a headache and was not craving food at all. Not sure if I am doing it right....I eat dinner on Sunday night and 500 cals only until 24 hours later? In fact I would be going longer than 24 hours on reduced calories because it is unlikely that I would eat anything after dinner. So I would actually be going from say 7pm Sunday to breakfast time on Tuesday. Is that OK?

Yes that's perfect @SotellMe.Try not to eat after your dinner on Monday. Stick to 500 cals for the whole of Monday than just resume your normal eating Tuesday. Do this twice a week and hopefully you'll lose around 0.5 kg a week like me if you've got lots to lose like me and maybe slightly less if you have only a little bit to lose. Don't forget to read the colored ballons for newbies on the top of the main forum page. Good luck!

Thank you Julianna. It is a bit confusing at this early stage as are the forums, but I will get it all sorted soon. Thanks for the heads up about the coloured balloons and information contained therin. I think I might already have read them but I have read so much since I got here I'm not sure any more:) I am enjoying myself even though a tad confused...and that is probably just a natural condition for me:)

Here is a picture of my 419 calorie fasting day meal, which was eaten at 17:00. It was quite delicious and filling.
