19 Apr 2015, 22:46
Im fasting, feeling over full so hopeing for an easy day. At work with only water, tea coffee and a 23cal cup a soup so that helps.
Who else is joining me in a Monday fast

Hi Wineoclock, I'm in with you today!

I'm back at work after two weeks holiday (at home for the hols for once, but no weighing or fasting, and eating pretty much whatever I wanted whenever I wanted - yay!) I weighed in this morning at 400g over my maintainence line, which is none too shabby all things considered. But today will be a fast day to get me back on track, and see whether I'll need another later in the week.

Today, I've got some home-made yoghurt for my afternoon pick-me-up, and left over corned beef and salad for dinner. I found a new butcher over the weekend, and it was probably the best corned beef I've had for a long time, so really looking forward to it (for more than just tummy-growling reasons!)

9 p.m. Sunday night here, decided to fast today instead of Monday. I have two more hours to go till bedtime and have eaten my calorie allotment for the day. More tea I guess. :( when I really want a handful of crackers.
Weather started off sunny this morning, with a strong wind but now it is raining. Hopefully, tomorrow will be sunny again. I was finally feeling like getting out of the house, more rain would just keep me inside. Good luck to all the Monday fasters! and hope the fast day passes quickly and smoothly. @PeonyBlue the only corned beef I've ever eaten is the deli sliced kind for sandwiches. Do you roast or boil a large piece of corned beef?
:clover: :clover:

Like PeonyBlue, I am just back from holidays this morning, but not brave enough to venture on the scales until I have had my first fast day - today - the first in a few weeks. Not looking forward to the fasting though... Most days when away I did not have breakfast (unless I really felt hungry) and waited until I did feel hungry before I started eating. But once I started...!!! I am hoping that, because I was quite active most days, the weight gain won't be too much. But I know there is some - I can tell by clothes and by looking...

Oh well. We had a fantastic holiday - Tassie is a great place to visit and we look forward to our next trip, as there is still have so much to see and do there that we did not have time for.

I also didn't have time for the forum in the latter part of my holiday, so have a bit to catch up on. I have just popped in to post this while on my first black coffee for the day, and before I hang out the third load of washing. Not sure that much will dry outside, but today is the best weather forecast for the week... And I so prefer washing dried outside to in the dryer or over the heating ducts...!

Best wishes and good luck to fellow Monday fasters! :clover: :)

It's essentially the same stuff. You take a chunk of brined beef, wash off the excess brine, and then boil it. I always add an onion studded with a few cloves, some bay leaves, a goodly splash of vinegar and some brown sugar to the water. Once it's cooked I carve big, thick slices and serve it hot with a bechamel sauce I've made (I usually add a spoonful of the cooking liquid to my sauce for added yumminess

I always buy a big enough chunk for leftovers - I store it in the fridge in the cooking water so it stays juicy and tasty, so basically, just a better version of the deli meat you buy for sandwiches!

I'm DODOing, so not fasting this Monday, but it feels odd. So just had to pop in and say, have a good one, Monday girls and boys. Corn beef sounds lovely, @PeonyBlue. I think I've got some in the shed freezer which I should have on a non-fast day soon.

Grey and wet here today as well, but I'm not complaining as I've had enough hot for one season. I want to complain about the cold for a change! But for you, I'll try to organise some comfortably sunny weather. Enjoy your trip up here!

I am fasting tomorrow. My days to fast are Monday and Thursday. Last Thursday was my first day of fasting after stopping for 2 years. So it feels good to be doing it again. I lost 30 lbs and gain back 13 of it. My goal this time is to lose 20 lbs.

@PeonyBlue that corned beef sounds yummy! no wonder you were looking forward to it. I can't remember ever seeing brined beef in any of the grocery stores in town. I will have to look for it. I'm in Canada  Have any other Canadians seen it? perhaps I'd have to get it at a butcher's.
Time for bed, went a bit over on calories about 600 instead of 500. Seems to be my normal fasting result. One of these times I will NOT eat anything just before bed
Goodnight everyone/good morn/good afternoon/good evening to all and sundry!

I noticed your absence from this thread @Sallyo, but think I saw elsewhere that you were DODOing so assumed that was happening. Hope it is going well for you :) . And sorry not to see you when we were in Tassie - next time!

It is pretty quiet here for a Monday fast... Not many Aussies around?? Or is everyone DODOing?

I'm in today. First fast for a few weeks. Had a fantastic holiday on a river cruise through Czech Republic and Germany and then 4 days partying with friends and family before packing up and leaving England for 6 months at our house in the south of France. I don't think too much damage was done by the feel of my jeans but looking forward to getting rid of this bloated feeling. Happy fasting everyone

I'm in today. Off for a run later. Then dinner tonight is tuna steak with lasagne rolls filled with spinach and quark in a butternut squash sauce and either salad or carrots. Have a good day everyone.

I am in today. After an over indulgent weekend (visible on the scales too), I am glad to be able to have the tools to reverse the damage. Fasting for me today and like Lizbean not over 350cals today, which used to be my weight loss fast day cals and I think I need to adopt that again. I am maintaining but I still want to lose 3lbs within the next 6 weeks.
