@Sallyo I'm glad that you seem to be feeling better as I read your posts. Have a better day every day ! :clover:
I'm in today. Good luck everyone :)
I'm in today! Survived Christmas party #2 yesterday... might have overdone it a wee bit, but hopefully not too much. I'm thinking with this hen party tomorrow night that I might do a 16/8 for Friday so I try and control the calories. Got Christmas party #3 on Saturday... <gulp>

Supposed to be snowy today up in Durham... and yesterday we had the 'weather bomb'. I might treat myself to a low-cal hot cocoa. Yum.

Hope it's going well for everyone today,

Ladan

Have a great fast day.

Rise and shine and enjoy the day fullest :smile:
I'm in today, fingers crossed as last week was a wash out and I didn't manage to stick to either of my fasts
Good luck @raggy!
I was starving ten mins ago..now its passed...those hunger pangs really DO pass...having said that tho,i do think fasting is quite an alien concept..most of us been brought up on three meals a day plus snacks!
@peebles great news about the bp..can you come off medication? X
@candicemarie. Thanks,
I'm starving too..... Was going to skip lunch and just have dinner but think I'll need to eat lunch, as I can just see myself getting to mid afternoon and falling off the wagon
I am in too. Good luck everyone.
@CandiceMarie, Re the BP meds, I was off all BP meds for most of the fall, but when it gets cold my blood pressure always goes up a bit, so I am taking a very small dose of an ACE inhibitor now, whenever I see the morning number a bit higher than usual. I have a home meter and my doctor is fine with my adjusting the dose on my own, especially with all these very good results over the past few months.

I can't take the other commonly prescribed classes of BP drugs because my liver doesn't metabolize certain things properly, something that runs in my mother's family. So it isn't safe for me to take many of the BP drugs as they can build up in my system and become dangerous. Those are the drugs that you can't just stop without causing problems, but the ACE Inhibitors are fine.

I woke up feeling awful after drinking my one glass of silly (but yummy) pink wine last night. That, too, is a side effect of the way my liver doesn't quite get the job done. It is certainly making fasting very easy this morning. I'll say that for it! Just the thought of food is making me feel queasy. But that is not a diet strategy I would recommend long term.
Oh @peebles your poor liver! What a shame it wont let you enjoy a nice little glass of vino.
However,I detest being on the usual bp meds ..too many longterm bad effects..so yr liver is doing you a favour in that instance.
@raggy how did it go?
Welcome@babydollangel! X
I haven't been posting (just busy), but I am always encouraged when I read the posts! Thanksgiving didn't add any pounds - yay! I love this new way of working on my weight! I'm finally back into my jeans from 2009, so it's a banner day :-) Although, it's pouring rain in Northern California and several school districts closed for the day -- not us, though :frown:
I've been in today about to have baked egg and spinach for dinner. All I have had today is one coffee and water. Been busy sorting out my crafting stuff and hoping to make room for the tree at the weekend.
Just tea so far today here, but unlike the last few weeks, I don't have a big project to keep me busy, so I'm noticing a lot of "Hmm. I'm bored, let's go eat something" thinking. It is really starting to stand out to me how much of my eating comes from that place rather than actual hunger.

I am a bit hungry now--last night's wine is finally metabolized, but I only have 90 minutes until I can have some cocoa made with almond milk. Then I'll be trying a new low cal "cream" of brocolli soup. Ham after that as I just can't face another piece of chicken breast. I wish there was some other low calorie meat that you could eat2ounces of and feel like you'd eaten something without also having consumed 240-260 calories.
Hi Everyone!
I'm in today as well! I am doing a much better job sticking with my fast today. As mentioned, I put on a few pounds and was feeling very down, which was making me eat more - oh no! Bad cycle!
Yesterday night I just reminded myself to be kind to myself, that it's a long road and after all the antibiotics and stuff I was on it's ok to have a bit of a gain. Today the fasting has been much better, no temptations, a nice soup for lunch and egg whites for dinner.
Good luck to everyone still fasting!
