Fasting Thursday 11th December
10 Dec 2014, 20:29
Good morning from a rather wet Blue Mountains. Just deciding if I should get up and venture out or stay snuggled under the covers - the cover are winning
Have a great fast day.
Good luck Thursday Fasters! I' ll be joining you after ive been to bed Wineo..you' ll be finishing as i start..
Pretty darn wet here too
Got a bit of a dilemma..i want to fast and i' m going to,but a friend is having a mulled wine and mince pie afternoon tomorrow..ive seen her today working so hard on making tiny mince pies and worrying if people will turn up.i wont be staying at it long, but feel i must have one mincie after her hard work and a sip of wine.
So my fast will be a little over 500 cals Better than not fasting tho x
Hi[tag]Candicemarie[/tag, I'm sure one mince pie is fine and your friend will be happy.
@Wineoclock I'm in! It's a grim looking morning in Melbourne too. :( But that's no disadvantage to fasting I'm thinking.
@CandiceMarie, I haven't had a homemade mince tart in years. The store bought ones just don't compare, enjoy your one mince tart and the season.
Thanks @wineoclock and @chinchin
I noticed as they were cooling on the shelf that they are tiny..and very pretty, dusted with icing sugar
I dont think they' ll be very calorific and i' ll stop at one!
@chinchin i wish i could teleport a few homemade mincies to you! X
I am fasting either side of my usual Thursday fast, due to circumstances, but thinking of all my usual Thursday companions. :clover:  :clover:
@CandiceMarie, savour every morsel of that mince pie, and it will seem like you have eaten several!
It certainly is miserable here in Melbourne. We are in the middle of having all our windows replaced, but the builders haven't even turned up yet today. At least everything is weather sealed!
And the weather is suppose to be picking up for the weekend - that will be a wonderful change for our local Carols by Candlelight, because almost every year it has either rained or been freezing!!
Best wishes to today's fasters! :clover:  :clover:
Oh yes, snuggling under the covers sounds good to me @wineoclock lucky you :sun:
I'll be fasting on Friday instead of today as Merlin, Ssure and I have our London meet up! Dead excited!
@CandiceMarie they sound very tasty - I 'm making mini filo pastry parcels this weekend for a meeting on Monday, whoops that's fastday ........
Happy fastday to you all
I will be fasting when Thursday arrives here. And I hope to be shutting the kitchen door tonight at 7PM, too.
@peebles do it, slam the kitchen door firmly shut at 7pm! I'm watching  :clover:
Hi all, I'm in today. So far nothing but black coffee and 2 cups of black tea. Didn't do a proper fast on Monday as I felt miserable, but today is a lot better and I hope to hold out until calamari salad tonight. Lovely warm summery day here in Devonport and I'm wearing my dragon fly shirt. It's penultimate week of the school year and I am tidying up my office and planning for next year. Lucky me, my classes are at an excursion to a farm. I couldn't go as I only work Thursday mornings. Making mince for pies this weekend. This year I am using real suet from the butcher as my vegetarian sister won't be with us for Xmas. Have a good day everyone.
Fasting today. I have been struggling this week. For the first time since beginning this system in June , I have failed to complete a fast, not once, but twice. On Monday I ended up starting to eat random things around 6pm (usually I have my structured soup around 7:30) and it was all over... probably ate around 1000 cals

On Wednesday I ended up eating things in the staff room around 3:30 pm ! 2 pieces of wraps, a mini quiche, some fruit which blew it so I decided to eat a normal dinner later and try on Thursday.

So today its now 1:50 pm, and I am determined to have a complete 500 cal fast!!
And to do a half fast tomorrow (fast til about 6pm and stay under 1000 for the day)

Feeling a bit over it lately. Still doing my exercise 7 days, but finding it more of a chore. my running time has slowed, slacking on the weights a bit.

So enough! I will stay on track until Christmas, where I will allow myself a little (not a lot) of leeway for one week.

Good luck all!
Don't be too hard on yourself, @nznicole. Maybe your body is trying to tell you something? it is possible, though I am not saying this will be the case for you, if you keep pushing yourself to fast when you don't feel like it, you can end up eating more than you intended each time, and get disillusioned and give up fasting altogether. It is the end of the year, we are tired, and we have to look after ourselves first and foremost! If you manage the fast day as you intend today, great, but if you don't, so be it, and maybe have a couple of days of normal eating before you try to fast or even semifast again. But of course, it it totally ip to you what you do, but do be guided by how you are feeling. And do allow yourself that leeway over the Christmas period. :)
Best wishes and good luck! :clover:  :clover:
@Lizbean, I stopped eating promptly at 7, but OH just brought me a glass of white zinfandel which I am enjoying. Very sugary, so I only get it a few times a year.

I had a gratifying doctors appointment today, with completely normal blood pressure late in the day, so I must be doing something right. I have had terrible struggles with blood pressure for years. Its been fine now for the last 3 months at various doctor appointments.
So my fasting today has involved trying the cherries and grapes I bought - yum. Then I just had to taste test the chilli con carne I'm making for the kids and that involved quite a few tastes. Now I'm making three different types of icecream, vanilla, cinnamon and chocolate so that involves lots of licking of spoons and trying the chocolate I was chopping. Oh well I guess it could be worse.
Good news on the blood pressure @peebles this does work
3 different types of ice-cream! Wow! That's inspiring! And on a fast day! Home from work, tucking into the liquorice tea. SO far, so good.
