Fasting today 26th December!
25 Dec 2013, 21:35
Good morning to those of us just west of the dateline and others later when you wake up - hope everyone has a good Chrissy, and I'm imagining some people who are the dedicated shoppers among us have already hit the Boxing Day sales.

Anyone else fasting today? I myself ate a bit too much King Island Brie and smoked salmon, so I'm "on the wagon" today - just about to go for a ride, then a little bit of cleaning up.

Good luck to all of you who are joining me!
Well it's still the 25th here but I think I might be in. Totally stuffed and in need of repair.....
Hi Jools7, I've just returned from a walk. I'm fasting today. It's Thursday, isn't it? I can serve Christmas cake and mince pies to the assembled throng, and there'll still be some left for tomorrow. I won't miss out. I realise that fear of missing out has often driven me to eat when I'm not hungry. I just had a big, deep sob on my solitary walk along the country road, sadness about my relationship with my son and his family. Christmas is a joyous time, but it is also a time to grieve the failures of family. Out into the garden with me, to catch up on all the jobs which have been put aside to get ready for Christmas. Happy fasting.
Hi sallyo, I am sorry to hear that you are feeling sad about the relationship with your son and his family. Christmas brings this to the fore when we are all supposed to be one big happy family delighting in each others' company, as media keeps showing us, but this doesn't always happen. It's not the case in our family either. I hope there are other family members and friends around who you can spend loving time with. Take care.
I shant be joining you today, but I am doing 16/8 until I re-start the fasting on Monday.

Oh Sally - I am sending you cyber hugs and thinking of you.

Happy Fasting everybody

cheers Maggie
Oh, @sallyo, walking while sobbing, I can identify with that! I hope for you that the sobbing, and the beautiful surrounds of Forth brought at least a little bit of healing. I'm thinking of that prayer - "the serenity to accept the things that I cannot change". Warm wishes across Bass Strait for you today!

And - eating for fear of missing out! That's huge for me! Goes along with claiming my space and my right to express myself. I could write a book...

Hope you have a good fast day!
Just leaving for my friend's home for Christmas dinner but will definitely be in for fasting tomorrow...today for you folks "Down Under". Hope everyone had a great Christmas Day; mine is just wrapping up in the next few hours. Looking forward to more success on 5::2 in 2014.
 :reindeer:  :plate: :present:
I've been to Forth, lovely place.

Something along the lines of being able to accept not every thing is fixable in the short-term but maybe in time?

I might join in tomorrow, not exactly over-eaten but wrong stuff & don't feel right.
:like: Thank you dear friends. I am loved and supported but all families have their sadness. It's a C

relief to cry and to tell someone.
That's what we are here for Sally. Sending you a big bear hug now.
I'm semi fasting tomorrow as today we are celebrating Christmas with my family at my sisters. We had planned to have half a bagel with smoked salmon and scrambled egg for brekky but I said to hubs I'd rather just wait for lunch as it will be wonderful and he agreed so I am happy.
Xxx julianna
